Me and the misses are going to New England in September next year. We plan to rent a house or cabin by a lake eg moose head lake in Maine. Has anyone got any recommendations on a place???

Can't advise you, I should think it'll be stunning though in September.
Where would you fly into, Bangor?
About 20 years ago we drove from Camden to Mount Vernon to go skiing, took us about 5 hours if I recall......Absolutely beautiful

Blumey I might be wrong, thought it was Mount Vernon. - anyway it was a LONG drive, I got 1/2 hrs ski lesson and then place was packing up! ( we set off in morning )
It was deep into winter though I remember that, -10 daytime on the coast, out in the boondocks -39 at nighttime
