Default Rowing Machine

I'm after a rowing machine, don't really want to spend too much, anyone on here got/had one that they can recommend?

Depends what you want to use it for - Concept 2 for dedicated regular training or a cheap Argos (A N Other) one if it's likely to become an ornament.

We have a Concept 2 that we hire from them at £36pm, it was only meant as a short term measure whilst my daughters coaches were away for 4 weeks (she rows competitively), but it's become a permanent fixture as it gets so much use by me

C2's really are the best, and a decent 2nd hand one could cost you >£5-600 and a new one around £1k.

A C2 would be great, but a bit pricey for what I need. I just want to keep my fitness up through winter as I won't be out on my bike as much. Thought about a turbo trainer for the bike, but would rather get a rowing machine. It'll probably one of the usual home exercise machines that sit in the corner gathering dust.

V-fit AR1 is what I had for a time, and it wasn't bad for the money. Obviously not concept 2, but it was pretty good still. Loads on ebay

Another vote for a Concept 2 rower. If you buy a cheaper unit, chances are you'll use it a couple of times and never use it again. The concept 2 rower is by a country mile the best out there and as its gym quality, I suspect you will use it over and over again.

You can rent them from concept for £39 a month. Free delivery and hassle free. If you do get fed up and give up after a couple of months then at least you can send it back and cancel the DD.

I have a york 501 something or other gathering dust in the garage. It was cheap at less than £100 a few years ago when I bought it. Criticism would be that it is a bit short if you have long legs, the screen is not backlit so can be difficult to read and the seat is a little uncomfortable if you are on it for a long time. I used it daily for about a year - got my moneys worth from it.

I'm thinking of hiring a Concept 2 for 3months, it'll cost approx £180 but atleast if I get bored of it, it can go back.
