Falling Asleep/Dozing
While driving. Whenever I'm driving a longish journey(1 hour or more) I seem to be really tired and feel that I'm going to fall asleep at the wheel. It makes no difference to what time of day it is or even if I feel I've had a good nights sleep. Anyone else get/have this?

What score do you get?
Any medications, medical history?
Height, weight, fitness? Drugs or alcohol issues?

Got a newish car now, it's been happening for a while now. Regarding having the windows open, I've tried that, even turn the radio up. Still the same.

Age
I passed my test in 1982, and have driven 100 of thousands of miles, and could regularly do 4/5/6 hours without a stop
But in the last few years I really really feel it, especially when driving after a long day at work
I do stop and just "let go"
And at night, jeez doubly worse, as I said -- age

Aka Pickwickian syndrome.
A possibility, but usually seen a bit older than 36 and usually in people running higher BMIs.
Agreed with the earlier suggestion that a trip to the GP is in order as this could end up in a nasty pileup.

sometimes I do about 14 hours depending on how busy we are, and then i have a 65 mile commute home, so don't end up getting home until nearly 9am. Luckily my shift is 4 on 4 off so plenty of time to catch up on sleep on days off
