Looks like a malnourished Cross Spider, very common aka Garden Spider, females give a pretty nasty bite if heavily disturbed.

Don't say that - I convince both myself and my hysterical teenage daughter that All UK based spiders are harmless

Especially when she runs upstairs, screaming about a spider in her bedroom
