Default Piling contractor in Kent

Can anyone recommend me a piling company to carry out 5 piles and ring beam.

We are looking at building a single storey extension.

May I ask why you need piles?

The house is piled and so the extension has to be.

Wish, will you be getting a groundworker to do your trenches and drainage etc?

If so for 5 piles and a ring beam you may be best placing that with them as many carry small rigs for such jobs. guessing that as you said it's an extension it'll be a mini piling rig.

Do you have details of the lengths and the ground from when the house was built as this would be useful so the piler knows how deep he will need to go and can select the best piles to use for the job.

Also are you sure the extension HAS to be piled, has this been confirmed as there may be an alternate method of construction that will enable you to avoid piling.

Not knowing the ground details it's hard to say and as the extension is only single storey you may be able to do some ground remediation instead.

Just so you know I work as a construction estimator pricing works on multi million pound project and see allot of different ground conditions.

Obviously your extension is not in that sort of area but the solutions can sometimes be the same.

I'm waiting back on some builders. They all seem to be sooo busy they can pick and choose there work.

I will speak to the building regs tomorrow to get conformation.

Having suffered from an attack of the old Farmers myself, I don't see why anyone would need piles.

Would a raft foundation be suitable, cheaper than piling.

Not had the time to call the council.

I have spoken to a piling company and sent over the specification of the extension to them.

I'm not sure of a raft foundation ? Never heard of it before.

Rafts can be used where ground conditions are poor, basically it's a reinforced slab that sits under the whole area on the house therefore spreading loads over a large area as opposed to strip footings where the loads are linear.
