Question

Just wondered if anyone knows what all the small sections of roadwords either side of M4 J13 are at the moment.

They're obviuosly putting in some sort of traffic monitoring system as the work consists of what appears to be pairs of pads in each lane and then generally they've dug a part of the grass bank out by the side of the hard shoulder.

The paranoid in me says its more jam sandwich haunts......

Anyone know?

Question

this is between Newbury and Theale right?

I think actually they are trying out new special signs, like back lit lcd or something. I know this might sound mad, but Im sure thats what I heard on "local FM" er 2-10 fm I mean.

yeah, that's where it is.

new signs is a possiblity (like the ones near the M25?) as they seemed to be sinking a huge pole into the ground this morning!

I guess it could be for traffic density monitoring to automatically put 'queue ahead' on the signs (given the number of big pileups that occur on the M4).

pileups?? jees, every night I go home there is either someone smashed up or broken down, normally both - what is it with peoples total inability to keep a car on the road??

That's leading up to the A34. Nightmare road and the M4 junction is always stuffed up.
