Default Radar detector with VOICE alerts required. What is there ?

I need a replacement straightforward Radar Detector unit. My Garmin sat nav has a camera database on it but a detector unit with VOICE alerts would be good, Garmin bleeps enough as it is !
Do not need a brand new one, don't mind ebay, don't mind an older model but must have the voice alert and must not be a GPS data download type.
So, any suggestions of what is out there that works/recommended/used by forum members etc would be most appreciated.

Thanks all

Brian.

Surely, by the time you are painted by radar they have your speed? I never used the laser detector on my Road angel for the same reason.........

That's not the issue for me. The Garmin sat nav bleeps and chimes away for all sorts of reasons and I don't like having to continually be looking at it to see what the reason is.
I just want a detector that has a voice alert to tell me a speed camera is ahead. Simple as that really.

Better off with a tomtom ,, theyre a bit nicer then garmin in the respect that you can program it to make whatever noise you want approaching cameras

Or save some money and use "Cameralert" app on your smart fone - that one defo uses voices if thats what you set it to

How can you "Detect" the cameras if you don't want to use GPS ?

Thanks all.
My old detector (now u/s) would light up and beep when approaching the Gatso.
Sat nav does the same but beeps at lots of other things as well so confusing and distracting. Voice alert seems like a good idea.

quote " Sat nav does the same but beeps at lots of other things as well so confusing and distracting "

to be honest mate its normally the other way round its the old radar detectors that would beep constantly with false alerts thus be confusing and distracting and this is one off the reasons folk went the gps route.

tomtom sat nav unit loaded with the speed cam database does a great job for me, can be set to warn off all types off camera or only certain types as well as actual warning distances etc

Do folk still use stand alone radar detectors these days ??
