And there you go.
We have removed every sanction on these kids, and people on here, and in the wider public insist that there is no stress in teaching......how many on here have a job in which they risk assault, be it verbal or physical, every day?
This kid will go to a YOI for a couple of years and be out and free. The poor woman is gone for ever and her family have to live with that.
If it were my mum, or wife, that kid would be dead the day he got out of the YOI.

This was my old High School, that teacher taught me Religious Education in my final year. I have to say, at the time I was there, a situation like this would never ever come about, I think it shows more about children's "power" in society (They know exactly what they can get away with!) rather than soft touch schools.
What's more upsetting is at 15 years old, this murderer will be treated and trialled as a child or young offender rather than an adult, even though we all really know they brought the knife with the full intention of causing harm to someone, if not a teacher, then another pupil.

Teaching I suspect can be a stressful job.
Not half as stressful as nurses, paramedics (who get less than a teachers salary).
I think most jobs, careers have their daily risks etc,
Builders & construction risk death on sites.
As said before nurses, doctors and paramedics risk daily abuse, physical and mental.
Coastguard search & rescue risk death daily.
Merchant mariners.
Security guards.
Firefighters.
Taxi drivers risk daily abuse.
Fishermen.
All the above on much less pay than a teacher.
What happened to that poor woman is inexcusable though!

Yep. The area has a bad rep but stuff like this never happens up there. The strong Catholic community surrounding the school will be just as upset about what's happened. If huge lad is local to the school I can't see him or his family being very welcome around there

This lady was 61, a pensioner that makes it even worse.
This is sickening, I only hope this was not done in front of the rest of the class, if it was there's going to be some traumatized young adults.
This is a important time for 15 year old's, this could set them back on so many levels.

She was a great teacher, had quite a modern attitude to teaching, especially in a Catholic school, she was firm but fair and treated her students with respect, only asking to be treated the same. I know about 20 people from various years who were taught by her as well as myself and everyone has the same fondly remembered opinion of her.
According to reports, the attack did actually happen in front of a class full of pupils. One of the rumours going round at the minute is that the attacker was heard saying "I don't want to hurt you, I want to kill you!" Which if true is just horrifying. There's a name being banded round twitter of who the lad is apparently but I'm not on there so I can't see it.

Get ready for the quotes of "he is a good lad" "it was not his fault" etc etc.
Bet he gets 10 years, out in 4 to 5. Probably do his a-levels and degree whilst inside. Come out with a degree and new name.
Total joke this country.

Thoughts must be with her family and the children who witnessed the stabbing.

Of course, that is totally irelevant to the tragic loss of what seemed a great teacher.

Well,he not done himself any good now has he.
This obviously goes more deeper than playing video games.I knew a kid at school that was into angry music, slept in the local cemetery a few times, and had a human skull in his bedroom. Was clever, but didn't kill anyone.
Just what's the daily mail doing.

The inevitable 'Mad Max'-esque dystopia is all but upon on us, folks. Give it, say, another 100yrs......
On a lighter note here's that picture of the delightful Sian Welby:
A much needed tonic, I'm sure you'll agree.
