Default car that cleans itself

Nissan have some sort of paint that has the same ish tech as a smart phone that can clean it self so they say. If this is the case what will Sundays be like if we don't have a car to clean. I am going to have to spend more time with the wife god help me.

It's all a load of rubbish,

You can get ultra hard ceramic clears, Nissan have a super soft clear that app if heated will soften and remove very light spider webbing from washing. But selfncleaning no chance.

I think "self cleaning" is a bit misleading. It repells dirt rather than cleans it after getting dirty.

They are calling it super-hydrophobic which is a bit like the coating you can get on glasses lenses to repell water.

How long it lasts will be the big issue.

This is actually true: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencete...ANING-car.html

They were talking about in the radio this morning to a Nissan bod, sounds like it's a few years before we'll see it as an option as they say they've still got a fair bit of testing to do. For lazy gits like me I'd welcome any developments like this
