Langerhans
Mate had problem with possibly malignant lump in his neck maybe 15 years ago, had it cut out, it wasn't apparently.
But that made him paranoid ( he's pretty paranoid anyway ) and last summer after a months working flat out he came down with some kind of bug and noticed swelling around top legs.
Went to gp who wasn't so interested, but took samples blood etc, but i think it was decided it was some bacterial infection / overdoing it. Tim decided he should leave it.
Months later, like 9, he decides its not good enough and plagues gp for more concerted effort. So after all sorts of tests they decide he's got cancer , some kind lymphoma/ langerhns - apparently 20 years ago it wasn't classified as such
He blames himself for not being MORE paranoid and nhs for delaying scans.
Is there really no cure ? ? ( his right leg is double size afer a day standing/working, not to mention the groin area) , the tissue will grow fibrous sooner or later - and then, last resort will be even worse .
He could get disability presumably, but how does he get by on 71 quid a week

Can't work out exactly what he has, I'm not entirely sure they know either
But his lymph nodes are blocked down there and/or not pumping. He's 53 I believe.
He claims all they can do is some kind massage to redistribute the volume and give him some kind stocking support

53 years old.....variant of non-hodgkins lymphoma at a guess, but that's all it would be, a guess. Usually pretty much treatable.
Not the sort of topic for diagnosis here though........
Hope it gets sorted

Duncan, sorry to hear about your friend's uninvited ill health problem, and the process of its diagnosis. Hope your friend gets appropriately treated, and hope he has close friends and family to support him through his illness. Best wishes to him.
