Default Can you have Bluetooth speakers that automatically connect to your laptop.

Looking at a harmon kardon Bluetooth speaker on offer at O2 for my laptop. I'd prefer it wired, but that's not possible. How easy would it be to have it connect automatically.

So....

Turn on PC and speaker.
Open music bee (media player)
Click play.

Is that possible, or will I always have to turn on Bluetooth and pair the devices.

usually with bluetooth once the bluetooth is on and you have paired the first time connections happen automatically from then on.

My phone auto connects to my phone kit because it is paired I cannot see why it wouldnt do the same with that.

I have a speaker connected to my iphone everyday and as long as the speaker isn't powered before the iphone is in range it will connect instantly.

So turn on phone, click play on music player, turn on speaker and that's it.

I also have an iPad mini, but reading up, Bluetooth is not always compatible.

Bluetooth is on all the time on my iphone, as soon as I am next to my speaker my phone connects unless as I said the speaker is connecting first.

Ipad mini is just as good as the iphone so if your having compatability issues it is more likely to be the speaker than the ipad.

I use Bluetooth with my iphone everyday to listen to digital radio.

For me its jump in the van and once I'm within range of the speaker that's not powered. Set the channel on my phone then switch the speaker on and

Or as long as the speaker hasn't been powered before the iphone comes into range I can power the speaker then play the iphone and everything is good

if you take the iphone out of the range of the speaker then come back again it won't won't re connect as the Bluetooth connection is lost, its similar to what I have said

you wouldn't want a completely autonomous connection or there would be security concerns.

Pair the first time and then should connect automatically from then (as said above)

You might have to disable the pc speakers to enable the bluetooth speaker, even tho its connected. Thats what i have to do with my headset.
I recently bought a Samsung hifi and the pc connects to that no problem.
It might depend on the unit you buy.
