Default Washing machines

Well after 9 years my old zanussi finally went pop, drum bearings went, so last year we bought a beko 9kg washer, I knew when I bought it for a massive 280 quid I'd throw it away should it go wrong, 1 year warrenty.

Anyway it's now leaking out of warrenty and leaking from the front so it's going to the skip. I knew it was false economy buying cheap tat. I could have been lucky and got 3 years plus but naa 13 months..

So I've bit the bullet and bought Miele with 10 year warrenty. At least now I can relax that everything's covered for the next 10 years.

With 3 kids, anyway of downtime creates chaos. So be warned..cheap is not always best lol

This is exactly why I buy cheap. I look for 5 year old plus machines that go for £30-£40 on ebay/facebook. They do the job well and average 2 years before needing replaced. I cannot see the point in spending more than £100 on one at all when new ones are designed to fail past 18 months.

Miele only offer 10 year parts warranty tho don't they? You still have to take the optional insurance with it or the parts warranty means jack shìt without the labour and before they release the parts their technician needs to call and confirm from what I can remember

Samsung for me, the first lasted 14 years so when it finally packed in I bought another one. Fingers crossed eh!
I did look at Miele, I do have one of their vacuum cleaners, cannot fault it. What put me off buying their washing machine was the weight, I'm knocking on a bit now and the thought of having to move that heavy thing about put me off.

Yes I was the same.I replaced my Zanussi after 14 years.Did a couple of minor fixes myself over the years but it did well.
I replaced it with a Beko mainly because it has a 1600 spin speed at a reasonable price & the washing comes out almost touch dry if you give it the extra spin.

I choose to buy through Currys because the price is good & they will deliver for free & take away your old machine for free.THis is worth bearing in mind when your costiing up.I live in a 2nd floor flat & they didn't complain about the stairs.

I bet they would complain if they had to carry a Miele up to your flat

We have Mile,

Had it over 12 years, and with 5 children gets used every single day - sometimes twice, has been utterly faultless

the 10 year from Miele is now Parts and Labour

https://www.miele.co.uk/promotions/F...hing-Machines/

Daft thing is the MF is washing now and not leaking. But I cant gamble like that when where at work. I have an idea its the Drum hose at the bottom somehow. Im gonna do a boil wash next see if that opens it up a bit.

I got it from Appliances online as always the guys are pretty good, deliver anywhere.. I must admit though the new 1 is a staggering 100KG LOL hope the guys are feeling strong.....

Happy days then! Decent kit the Miele line is tbf.

Just bought a Hoover machine, 10kg for one of the homes we run. Online figures were coming out at anywhere from £650 on offer up to just shy of 1k. Fortunately for me the Hoover factory is on my doorstep and can access the staff shop, £229 later I was a happy man

Not so much industrial so to speak just need bigger machines so they can cut down on the amount of loads they put in to the machines on a daily basis. They had either a 12kg or 14kg (can't remember which but it was too big for my needs) semi commercial one there that I could have had for £350 iirc, really surprised me compared to the high street the prices did, real significant savings tbh not just a few quid here or there, we talking well under half price on some machines.

Our 20+ year old 70 quid second hand ( year warranty ) hotpoint is finished, coin something left in pocket has chipped the outer drum (plastic )...

My next door neighbor repairs washing machine, we paid him 60 quid for an 8 year old Miele.

It should last about twice as long as a new 300 quid Beko etc

But, at some point very soon, you will be buying the machines which last 18 months ... you will be buying someone's repaired tat!

That's odd, Miele's have a 10 year warranty - so, an 8 year old one wouldn't be repaired and sold on for £60 ....... I think you've actually bought a chinese copy!

Samsung gets my vote 12 years on my last one, got the eccobubble one now, with free 5 years parts and labour.

It might just be a feature of the brand, but to my eyes the fascia design on that Miele looks more like 18 years old than 8.

That's not to say it won't last another 18 though, and at £60 you can't really grumble either way.

If your Beko is leaking from the front it's likely the drum front seal...usually takes about fifteen minutes to repair with a new one which is a couple of ££.

I'd have looked at that first.

Miele all the way, i had becko and it broke after 13 months out of warranty, i sold it for 50 quid.
I bought a Miele cost me around 900 quid, and its been bulletproof infact the MF was so heavy took 3 of us to lift it in.

I did have a Miele dishwasher but its now going tomorrow, leaked and i did fix it but i think Pumps now leaking parts are a fortune, so im cutting my loss and getting shut, the new version of Miele was 600 only 2 year Warranty and the Bosch variant 750 but on further research i went Hotpoint Ultima they now come with 5 year warranty and 10 years Parts, so for 370 quid i,ll give them a crack.

Washing machine though without a doubt Miele, even the Van drivers said another class of monster inside....
