Default House Removals to Newcastle area

After securing a job up North (30 miles west of Newcastle) we'll be on the move for the first time in a few years. How much for a removals van? Never used one before as the last time we moved we were able to do it DIY with some mates. The journey is 350-400 miles and it's a 3 bedroomed house full of the usual detritus you seem to accumulate when you stay in one place for a few years.

Anyone used movers recently?

It was a sad day yesterday after my last drop off to Enginetuner for yearly service and oil cooler. I only hope I can find a decent garage up North. Revolution is the big name - any others?

Been given a rough quote of 1300 for the move.

Still no word on reputable tuners in the area?

Best thing to do is join the nesf forum up north, you will find out all the info you need.
Tuner wise I think as performance is your best bet.

I feel for you dude, it's bleak up north and they all talk funny, in Newcastle it seems obligatory to start every sentence with Fcukin and throw in the odd random ****, eg; "Fookin went down the fookin shop for a fookin packet a fookin crisps an the fookin ******* din't fookin av any fookin salt an fookin vinegar, fookin **** ****." local dialect I presume, you'll get used to it mind.

No one coming to the bleak, thieving, car jacking, chronic swearing northerners' defence then? Or is it all true?

Just joined nesf and will try to get involved once I'm up there.

Nope. We're the people you don't wanna know, we come from places you don't wanna go.

It's not that bad. Except Sunderland. Which is a sh!thole.

I can confirm Sunderland fooking stinks, had to go there the other day for work it was terrible!

Unfortunately fella we are all absolute pieces of sh*t and you would be far better off stayin where you were........... Throw all your coats away for a start you won't need them in the north east.

As for removals can you not just steal new stuff when you get up here?

I use AS performance for parts but I would recommend Andy kindon in Chester le street for work also.

I sold my impreza last week as this forum made me realise they were for gays and chavs....I'm now putting my time into designing websites for the you unemployed tac smoking mug lipped dings and gay marriage etc.

Enjoy your stay

Mick

Insightful replies - many thanks. Born and bred in the North, so I know exactly what it's like. LOL I'll be going home after years working in the Wales, Midlands, South East and South West. Looking forward to getting back up North.

It's not bad up here, apart from as already mentioned, Albania on the Wear - the land that's never discovered soap.
