Could do the A50 thing. We'll be almost there by Derby though, surely? If anyone is up for the trip from Staffs to Derby then stick yer name here. Could start at my office in Stafford as per SM1 and go via Uttoxeter.

 

Ill be getting on the A50 at longton, so would probably meet you at McD's at Uttoxeter or something??

 

Sounds like the start of a plan! Where is McDs in Uttox? I've only ever driven through it on the way to Derby :-)

 

Mcd's is on the roundabout, theres also a filling staion on the same side & a little chef & burger king on the other side.

I am going along the A50 from either the A500 or via Uttoxeter. I am not sure which way yet as I maybe picking Michelle up. Either way I can be at McD's on the A50. What time guys 11.15am-11.30am sound like a plan ?

I am assuming the McD's raoundabout is the sloping one with the thick white line in the middle and a Little Chief and Shell Station on the other side ?

Derby lot are hoping to leave at 11.15 as Charlie Whiskey's got a nice route over to Gunthorpe planned, so if you decide to join us you may need to leave a bit earlier than suggested

It is Sunday and I didnt want too early start which is why I suggested 11.15 ish. I was planning going directly to Gunthorpe and not planning on the Derby drive though. I will pull onto McD's between 11.15 and 11.30 but I'll wait till 11.30. If you are going earlier I will see you guys there at the pub.

I'm going to have my 2 year old nipper on board so will be looking for sensible speeds. Are you guys all wanting to have a "spirited" drive or just a gentle cruise?

 

Robman I am looking for a nice sensible drive and enjoy the day, thats why I have given myself plenty of time, no rush.

 

Ok, that sounds cool then. I'll try to be at McDs at 11:15 and meet up with Chrisp and whoever else is there. We can go straight to Gunthorpe rather than doing the Derby meet's route (sounds like they want to have some fun!) and get there at a relaxed rate.

Chris, what time will we get to Gunthorpe do you think?

There are two short routes you can do out & back from Gunthorpe anyway

We should get to Gunthorpe about 12:15 See you all there no doubt

 

Robman I reckon about an hour tops from McD's so about 12-30pm if we leave at 11-30
