We have cancelled the Travel Lodge and have now booked into the Innkeepers Lodge/Toby Carvery situated on the A52 Derby Road.
According to the receptionist it is only a 5 mins taxi ride from town.

Couldn't get any of the Hotels in City Center as they were all booked.

Sorry I've not been on for a while but I've been in Canada for several months and had **** to sort out.

Anyway, beers on Saturday sounds great. Expect me on the Sunday though, in the normal scooby weekend meet condition I am always in. FEELING ROUGH!!

Rock has moved to Saturday nights now....don't do what we did and turn up on a Friday all ready for some good rockin' to find it's turned into the love shack 80s guff from what I hear.

Rock has been mixed with the goth, although recently there has been a lot of Nu Metal upstairs. Still get classics in the Rig and some of that hip hop boogaloo stuff in the little disco

Oh yeah, the booze is still expensive, and the stuff from the pumps tastes like pi55 I stick to water in the club, it's cheap, it does the job, and I'm normally pi55ed by the time I get in there anyway

Ok here is me plan

I am gonna go and Rock!!!!! cos that's what I like Also, i have to stay quite sober cos i don't fancy meeting 200 odd people and speaking to press and coppers with a hang over and stinking of beer.

Now Rock isn't everyone's cup of tea, so therefore i'd like to nominate Salsa King or Trouser to be the "Townie" Organisers. I think Salsa is away at the moment, but because there are so many of us, i reckon that there ain't no harm in having two types of night out going on at the same time.

I thought maybe all meet up early evening (19:00hrs ish) in a neutral pub and then split off into our respective pub crawl groups

If I can make it up Sat I'm gonna be rockin

 

The car park next to Rock City is good on Talbot Street. The one under the council buildings, not the Royal Hotel one. It's secure, has guards and CCTV.

Only trouble is it shuts at 1am, but it is 50p an hour at night, so you could leave your car there and pick it up in the morning. I always feel safe parking my car there, next to the odd porsche or lotus
