STRAW POLL....Which Charity for "THE BIG ONE" COLLECTION
How about an MS related charity? MS is an incredibly common illness, which, depending on the severity can have devastating effects on sufferers. The only drug which can effectively combat it (beta interferon) costs £600 per month (!), and my good friend Tony Blair is busy making it unavailable on the NHS, as it isn't deemed 'cost effective'!! My fiance was diagnosed with MS last November, right out of the blue, and she's only 29 for chrissakes!
I will donate to whichever charity is chosen, but if it was MS related, I would be really pleased.
Leigh

From: Midlands - between notts and derby !
Perhaps we could do two things
1. Any form of cancer charity for the cash
and as suggested above
2. if anybody wanted to bring toys then they could be donated.
Mikey, have we thought about asking companies like subaru dealers, tsl etc whether they would match us in any way ?
Leigh,
Sorry to here about your situation.
Are you going to try and raise some money yourself for the treatment ie sponsorship, if so the I would happily contribute.
Dave.

As usual, I can't make any decisions, but.....
How about money goes to charity (don't mind which one), and then get a photo opportunity by taking cuddly toys (if we're doing that as well) to a kids hospital ward or something and present them over to the hospital? Get some good press for Scooby drivers, a bit like the Easter Egg run that is done by the bikers around here.
If we are doing the cuddly toys/kids games route, let us know so I have time to go and buy one!

With a lot of my family and friends being struck down by cancer.
My aunty at the moment is dying due to cancer
My vote is for the Cancer Research.
My second would be the NSPCC, their adverts are heartwrenching and really make you think.

Having had two close relatives die from, and a third recover, I'd have to go for cancer as well, with NSPCC a very close second. 50/50 split would be the best compromise
Tim,
Ideally, the mini meet organisers collect the cash at thier meets and then give it to me at Gunthorpe. That way i don't spend all afternoon walking around asking people if they want to donate. I wanna be out in the car park oggling cars
