Derby area, Thai/Curry Mon/Tue?
I've had a PM from DaveD, ex of this parish - now residing in Brizzol, who is up in Derby on course Mon22nd/Tues23rd and was wondering if we could fit in a meal and meet up with any of the 'old school' (or should that be skool)
If anyone is interested we can decide where to go, otherwise the Siam Corner gets my vote

Hello
I'll be staying in a (or is that 'an' ) hotel next to the railway station, so somewhere in Derby would be nice (might not have access to the hire car), unless someone wanted to offer me a lift?! Should be free either Monday or Tuesday night. Would be good to catch up with some familiar faces!
Siam Corner is always a safe bet!

Aston Court/European or Midland?
Siam Corner is on Osmaston Road, near The Spot, so in town really.
There are 2 other Thai Resturants in Derby, on Green Lane & Bold Lane, but they are further away.
On Midland Road (the one opposite the train station) is Masala Art, one of the few decent Indians, it's not cheap but tis ok.

Would loved have come along but Monday's and Tuesday's aren't good for me. Sorry Dave would have been good to catch up. If anything changes at work I'll try and get along. Not been to any of the Thai's in Derby so would have been good to try them as well

It's changed quite a bit recently, I doubt Dave will recognise most of it
Much the same as any City Centre, there are some multi-storey car parks about, not sure on the opening times of some of them. There is a Parksafe place on Bold Lane which is supposed to be the safest place. The Derby City Council website seems to be a bit out of date on it's maps, as it's all changed with the new Westfield Centre. Car Parks I would recommend either the Assembly Rooms car park (easy to find from the A52) or try to park on Midland Road (not off it) near the Station, where Dave is stopping.
