Karen racing at Mallory Park, Monday 28th Aug.
If any of the Worcestershire lot are due to be bored on Bank Holiday Monday, then raz across to Mallory Park and watch Karen race her MR2 in the MR2 Challenge.
The is our (most) local(ish) circuit, so any support will be very welcome.
She'll be out on track for a qualifying session at about 10am, and then will be taking part in two races in the afternoon. There are no scoobs racing, but lots of classic cars which might appeal to some of us old gits!
Cheers,
Squizz

There's a motocross track that runs alongside part of the circuit...??
Anyway, we had a great weekend! We both attended a track day on Saturday and swapped notes about driving the car around the circuit.
On Monday, Karen qualified for the first race in 17th out of 21 on a damp b ut drying track. In her second qualifying session, the heavens had opened and it poured with rain so much that there was standing/running water with waves!! She kept it together and actually qualified 12th out of 20. A stunning performance.
Race 1 saw her finish 17th after a race long battle with a MK2 car. She did overtake him at one point, but his more powerful brakes saw him overtake on the inside of the hairpin. Karen did try an overtake again, following the lapping leaders to go past him. However, he shut the door firmly causing a small amount of wing damage to her car. A great race!
Race 2 had Karen have to overtake a stationary car at the start via the grass and she was in the mix immediately. She was fighting a couple of MK1's hard but they used their power advantage to eventually get past her on the straights until she was back just ahead of where she started. The car in front then started dropping oil and Karen was having to fight hard just to stay on the circuit. Despite being black flagged for 3 laps the guy stayed out and ruined her race. She finished 13th, which matches her best result yet. Without the oil it may have been much better!!

Well done Karen
You must let me know when you have another race on at Mallory. Its a top circuit at the best of times, but with a dirt section it will be well good!
