Coventry Santa Pod hire car challenge !!!
So just gauging interest on a ¼ mile hired car thrash.
After the meet on Sunday a few of us got chatting on this years events and the Fast show on 26th March at Santa Pod was one of the 1st events. Now that I have retired from drag racing the Scoob (along with 4 retired gearboxes) how about thrashing someone else’s car we thought? So how about getting a group of hire cars for the day and seeing who can set the fastest times?
We obviously need some basic rules such as…..
Max spend on a car for day / weekend to keep the cost down (how much does a hire car cost for the day?)
Invoice to prove car hire and price
Car must be plastered with hire car advertising (to set the scene)
Car must have a ‘Santa Pod hire car challenge’ poster displayed in windows
Car must be driven to and from event.
Anything else you guys can think of? any problems apart from the obvious hired car abuse?
So anyone interested?
Cheers
Neal

I'm game for it.
I agree a price limit should be set otherwise some bright spark would hire a Ferrari or some such toy.
One word of warning - If you advertise it is a hire car, the pod might not let you on and of course you will not be covered it goes bang. 'Not for use in time trials' seems a common clause on hire agreements.
But what the hell let's do it.
Tim.
