Default Chesterfield Scoobies 1st Official Meet

Now I know there are loads of you out there ( must have seen about 8 today ) and for a place with such alot of scoobies there seems to be no local meets.

Now me being such a kind and generous person would like to organize some sort of meet in the New Year. I am posting this up as I would like to get some idea of how many people are interested before I put any plans into action.

I was thinking of just a general get together at first and if I get a good response then other plans can be made ( must admit I do like a good convoy ).

I know I've probably posted this in the wrong place but wasnt sure wether to go for Northern or Midlands, coz we're a bit in between. So I decided to plonk it on here as I know every good scooby driver frequently checks to see if they have been spotted, me included, but it seems that I also drive one of those invisible scoobies.

Anyways feel free to post up if you fancy coming to meet and any suggestions of where we could meet, pub etc.

yeah, I like the idea of a meet.

In the past some Midlands meets have ended up at the Red Lion at Stanedge, after a drive up from Long Eaton. I've joined the meet up at the red lion a couple of times.

It's like you said though, stuck between midlands and nothern.

Midlands = Birmingham, Leicester, Derby etc
Northern = Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle.

Dunno bout where to meet Im sure theres loads of places... winsick arms in hasland perhaps? plenty of pubs scattered around some rather pleasant country roads too...

If you need a hand arranging owt giz a shout Dee!

One benefit is you get to do both sets of events.

Aye me too Ubik!
I know theres a vauxhall meet at the winsick arms every once in a blue moon so its certainly a big enough car park for us all to meet in. Dee not sure where Fox House is, is it out in the countryside somewhere?

Do you know the Owler Bar roundabout? A couple of miles north of that. Not far at all from Chesterfield.

From the B6051 to Owler Bar (bottom right hand side). Follow the B6054 onto the B6187. The Foxhouse pub is where the first A6187 marker is on the map.

Well then it looks as though this post is truly up and running. So where shall I move it too, Northern or Midlands or both, and can someone tell me how to move it coz I aint got a clue.

Whats wrong with the donut, Ive had many an entertaining evening in there during my younger years. Wouldnt it be great to have a convoy past on a Sat night.

As for the meet I was planning on after xmas as we seem to have alot on next month. Was thinking sometime around the 16th January. In the meantime I'll give the winsick a call just to make sure they are happy with a group of grumbling scoobs taking over their car park.

Any comments on the date or venue let me know.

Not interested at the moment. The engine and exhaust system are staying the same as is the low level spoiler. He was trying to get me to have a carbon bonnet and a few other bits but his jedi mind tricks didn't work.

It goes in tommorow for some handling upgrades (alloy drop links, anti roll bar etc) readying the car for Nurburing. (sods law that I hear it was on top gear last night so its probably going to get busy ).

I just paid the car off today but I have one or two on going projects lined up for those beans.

I will see how the car goes in germany before tinkering with it anymore. First MOT tommorow so fingers crossed.

Been up to clinic today, to have the "Road Angel" wired in. Are you having a loan car, if you get the green legacy ive already put some petrol in it.

Got my first laser warning today, freaked me out, and not a boy in blue in sight. Luckily I was in some traffic and was only doing 28mph.

I didn't want to put them to any trouble so I am riding around on the back on my mates GXSR750.

0-60 too fecking quick. He just had to $hit me up (twice).

The road down from the clinic is not made for bikes. Took my mate twenty minutes to find, he spotted my car from the top of the hill and thought 'its not a farm after all.'

Had the handling package fitted today and the car passed its first ever MOT with flying colours.

It feels very different to drive now, very solid and I can feel every single bump on the road. Only problem I had at the clinic was walking up there, pitch black cant see anything, walking in my motorcycle gear (my mate dropped me off at the bottom)..... splash....splash. **** these boots aint fully water proof. Soaking wet feet for the next fourty minutes.

I will see how it handles tommorow when I goto Manchester airport (yet again ) BP are coining it in from me this month.

Unlucky mate, not had the pleasure of walking down the scoobyclinic road just yet, although I nearly did the other day when I thought it'd be a good idea to make the short trip to the clinic through the snow and ice..... took me a good 15 miutes to get back up that hill after a bit of 'encouragement' from Kev!
Knew there was a reason why I chose 'Daft Lad' as my username!!

Chesterfields first meet will be on the Sunday 16th January 2005. We will meet at 12pm
at The Winsick Arms, Mansfield Road, Hasland, Chesterfield.

We then plan to have a run up to Fox House for about 1.30 and then for a drive, nothing too challenging coz we will have the nipper with us on this one. Have yet to decide a route but will post up details nearer the date.

So if your interested get you name down on the list.
