Exhaust Testing for Bedford - Roll up!!!!!

Right then,
After some initial "hiccups" , we need to sort out some suitable time between now and the 6th Feb, to see whether you Bedford attendees will be racing or watching!!
Tony and I had a chat about this today, and I know there's a few who want it done.
My only suggestion is perhaps to look at somewhere where we can set up some ramps....
So we can change backboxes if your weapon of choice is too loud!!!
On the surface, the Brandsford idea's pretty good, but would you guys be happy changing exhausts in public view?
Now, I have had one idea about this (if it's a goer) - Hereford Tech College
The reason being, is because they've got an outside working inspection ramp, and we can rev the whatsits off the cars without fear of reprocussions
If people are interested, I'll ask my colleagues in the Motor vehicle dept tomorrow (anyway)
Otherwise, lets have some suggestions on venue and date.....
Dan
PS I'm thinking of coming to the trackday (as a spectator), perhaps I could ride shotgun with some people at Bedford
If so, is it too late to get a room - although I know I'm leaving it rather late (Tony)

Fizz/Darren would be interested in having his car tested, I'm sure.
We'd like to get our track-oriented Nissan 200SX tested too!
Dan, check out www.zed-power.co.uk for details

I've got a rope and a skateboard.....
Right then, the College is a probable no go, due to us needing it at the weekend. Fair enough.
Although the Friday afternoon is available.
I think it boils down to how many think they'll need to change the backbox () - might be worth doing this as a seperate exercise, say, before school run ...
Otherwise, let's get a venue then.... and a date..... before 7th Feb...

Right then you lot.
Any further thoughts on the noise testing?
I'm thinking of either this Sunday (25th) or next weekend.
1st weekend in Feb is out (i'm off Karting!!), and the 2nd weekend will be too late
Venue? Ledbury? suggestions.......

This normally goes without saying
Please be careful around this area and Obey all Speed limits as the may be a situation with a Police Officer with intent on possible Vitimisation long story tell you all later. My Soliciter is reviewing it
Don't leave the car running whilst un-attended
Ps mine checked REV limiter in second is 57mph and most will be the same

Glad to see that everybody passed with flying colours
Group buy on standard obxes then.....
Highpoints of the day -

Low points (well for one person in particular ) - travelling all that way. Having the axlestands, jack, backbox..... no spanners!! D'oh!!!

Interesting how Pete Croney says that "cars fitted with quieter after market exhausts should easily pass"... only one car passed our tests....
Mine for instance (according to Litcho's site) says "Our system meets all current MOT and Police Noise and Emissions tests with ease" like b********!!!
I think there will be a few surprises in store for us scooby owners at Bedford as it looks like the generate a lot of "noise" on WOT!!!

Forgot to add that for those who were "erring on the side of deafening" , please bear in mind that the figures collected yesterday weren't exactly under lab-conditions
OK the tester is a standard item (albeit, an older version - still about £4500!!)
But everything else was a tad vague - the distance, other cars etc....
Please take the figures as a guideline
A good example of this point, is that I measured James' 22B a few months back an it was 2dB lower than yesterday......

Dan,
agreed... when we used to do the rally car there were different settings / limits dependant on the surface being tested upon, broken, gravel, concrete, tarmac etc...
it is, however a good guide... I MIGHT risk it and ensure the standard box goes on the car before I go!!
