Hi all, after seeing what a difference a load of scooby nutters can make to a young lads day on sunday i mentioned what had happened on sidc it has been suggested on there that there could be a Christmas present run to a local hospital i have suggested Derby Childrens.So if anyone is up cheering up a load of sick kids i already a volunteer for santa so if anyone is up for this can you stick your names down here or sidc thread

Thanks for getting your names down on this folks i have spoken to Derby childrens hospital today and they are chuffed to bits so i just need to run a few possibles dates by everyone to make sure we get this best turnout, the dates they have available are.
Saturday 6th December
Sunday 7th December
Saturday 20th December
Sunday 21st December
So if we can gets some votes in asap I can let them know.
There are 2 other pressey run taking place so the sidc is going to set up a charity account so that people can donate direct or i'm going to be wandering round with my begging bowl at Long Eaton.We are wanting donations of Toys wrapped or not it's a good time to wander round toys r us or if s/hand think they should be in good condition.I am going to get in touch with local newspapers,companies etc as soon as i have an official letter from sidc.Thats about it for now so will keep everyone posted as and when anything new happens.

Evening folks,We are going to need a meet place before we convoy off to the hospital does anyone have any thoughts on this .Also we would probably want a couple of wagons down there to act as santas sleigh any volunteers i have an offer of one from sidc.
Lastly if anyone is friendly with any of our local Subaru Dealerships or Scoobyclinic etc and they want to put the word in as far as donations is concerned could they let me know.

Just thinking about the presents , do we know how many kids there are and what age, gender they are so that we get it just right.

Bru I am going to Childrens hospital monday to find out were they would like us to go so as soon as i know will let everybody know.
Also ths sidc charity account should hopefully be up and running soon so you can either send direct or get your own stuff from toys r us etc or s/hand stuff if it's in good nick.If your gonna wrap stuff up remember to label boy or girl.

Dave,

I was speaking to the community officer at work today and she said that sometimes the hospitals are overrun with presents if the taxis drivers and hells angels do the same .... Are they ok with getting more presents or is there some children homes or alike that we would be better sharing to?

Or even to a charity that distributes to the parents of the children, so the children do not know that it is a charity gift.

Just some thoughts.

Dave i had a similar thought myself if you can suggest a childrens home etc that is in need we could perhaps go for that as well.If you check out the sidc threads on this the guys organising the southern cruise are going down that route also.So if we get enough donations etc what does everyone think ?

Have spoken to the hospital today and we are booked in for this now on Sunday 7th December at 2pm they are going to speak to me again later on this week to let me know how many are allowed on the ward how many kids and what age group etc so will post more as i find out.So get thoses donations in and get those names down.
