As promised i will be arranging a run to the NBO on Sun 15th June.The plan will be to meet at the services(NO optimax) at the intersection of the M18(jc5) and M180 at 9.00am and to leave by 9.30am(earlier if we're all there) ,this should be convenient for most people as it's on the locical route to the NBO anyway.Please post in this thread so i/we know if we'll need a police escort or not .Pace notes err.. sorry directions, and a rudimentary map will be distributed on the day in case of seperation.Oh and bring a brolly , just in case
ps optimax availability will be posted in due course but if you all fill up the night before it will easily get you to the NBO.

Just incase anyone wanted to know there are 2 garages in scun thorpe that have optimax... One on brumby corner and another near asda... not far from the M180.

Yeah...could you clarify that one Matty - is that near Birmingham or Penrith?

 

err,if you drive straight down the M180 (heading west,ie away from coast ) you will get to a roundabout, go straight over that roundabout and you will see the services (nearest place is Thorne,but please note M180 jc1 access is limited)

(Dan,could you elaborate on the position of optimax in Scun thorpe as if we want to fill up 'en route' to NBO it will entail a detour into Harrogate[and there's no guarantee that hundreds of thirsty scooby on there way to the NBO won't have run it dry already... ] as optimax is sparse,if anyone particularly wants optimax (me) then it would be handy to fill up in Scunny to avoid the Harrogate detour )

 

I wouldn't worry matty, there is a few on the A1.....one I DEFO know about is just south of the M62 junction with the A1 got optimax there a few times...........

 

....probably catch that on the way back then...

Dan , we're not going to/via Thorne i'm just saying that Thorne is the nearest place to the services so that you can identify the motorway services on a map if you need to ...the services are on an exit from the roundabout at the end of the M180...

Apparently anyone going to the NBO will have to register in the NBO thread/at tyne tees scoobys web site (in Events>>Northern>>NBO) to be allowed to park with the other 500 or so scoobs anyone not registered will be directed to the normal Lightwater Valley parking facilities,not a disaster but you may want to bare it in mind.

err...you'll be cutting it pretty fine but it's worth a try,if we're there(NBO) in good time the marshalls may wave you through with us anyway , i don't really know....
