Cool

I was thinking of a way to make the Staffordshire Meet 2 even bigger and better.

So, I thought........Okay, yeah, yeah get the insults over and done with thankyou

How about doing a kind of treasure hunt???
I give out a sheet of paper with slightly cryptic clues of things to spot and note down on the route.
There will be an "entry fee" so to speak along with a first and second prize.
The rest of the money will be donated to the charity of Nick Wild's family's choice in honour of him

Are you interested in doing this sort of thing?
What kind of "entry fee" would you be happy to pay?

Please post up

Excellent idea as long as it is subltle enough to be done en-route, I have toyed with this idea in the past and know it has to be done right, but then you always did know how!

I am thinking about designing a T-shirt for the meet too.

I could then offer them at cost price plus a quid or two which will go to charity in honour of Nick Wild also.

If peeps would want something like that I will get a couple of designs put together (Once I can fecking well open up photoshop ) and put them up to vote.

Question

It will be best to have a passenger if we go ahead with this, so will the fee of £5 be for both? or per person? What would you peeps be happy to do?

That is why it would be best to bring a friend.

Anybody with more than one could donate to soloists

LMW if you need help I have done a few THs in the past. Best to have a couple of stopping points ( I could run one if you want )so if people get lost they can get to a point and start again. Sealed envelope with map and instructions, mobile number of helpful person to next point. If it opened lose 10 points say. Fill in list of questions on the way to make sure you went the right way. Reset trips to make sure they havent gone off course . That way its not a timed event its a mileage thing and not a speed trial.

Also a scavenger list to get as you are going along.

Cold chip
Beer Mat
Lottery ticket
Leg of lamb
etc.

Maybe a set of challenges to be done on the way.

I sent a load of people to get the price of a special type of brick in B&Q.

Sounds like a cracking idea and good fun for kids so they dont get bored .

cheers

chrisp

Sounds a great idea!!! Drop me a mail

Consideration to time needs to be given as several will be travelling far.

The pub where the end is has no problems serving food till late

This sounds really - can you post some (understanably) vague details of the route so I know how far I will have to travel down from Lancaster for this please? (ie M6 Junction numbers)
Also, how long will the route be and to whom do I send advanced t-shirt orders

Cheers, Jon

By the sound of it the route will now be about 200 miles, take seven hours to complete and you will have to stop to find clues every few miles

The pub where the end is has no problems serving food till late
Is this gonna take all day & night then Michelle?

For it to work you wont be driving quick so you dont want too many miles as you need to spot things as you are going along. No use in having a route which takes in 50 miles of open roads, fields and hills .

Is the treasure hunt going to be a seperate little loop all on it's own? There are plenty of suitable roads around the start/end for it. I pressume that will be the best idea to fit in with your 'WRC format'

Might be to do this. I'll quite happily be a navigator / passenger if anyone needs one being as I don't own a Scoob.
