Question

Hi Guys

Came back from GGR yesterday on the M69 heading towards Coventry. Question is on the bridge just before the Welcome to Warwickshire sign there are 3 cameras, one covering each lane. These are completely different to the Traffic Master style cameras. Does anybody know if these are speed cameras and if so are they active. If nobody knows I will keep you informed as I will be receiving a ticket very shortly .

Cheers

Neal

Neal,

were they (square) white cameras, with what looks like an infra-red illuminator beside them?

I have seen them a lot recently, for example on the M40 just North of the Warwick turnoff, and the M6 just South of J14. In all cases, like you say, there is one camera per lane.

Dunno what they are for, but occasionally (but not always) they set my laser detector off as i pass underneath.

I can't see them being speed cameras (yet), but could possibly be tax disk checkers or number plate scanners. Whatever - big brother is definitely watching you

Thumbs up

There the puppies m8

Anyone else shed any light on these little bu55ers ?

Took me by suprise, if its a set of new speed cameras and have caught me, its about time. My right foot has always been a bit heavy and so far 15 yrs of driving I have no blemishes on my licence . Been close though but always managed to talk my way out of it.

Cheers

Neal

Saw 'em last weekend too. There's only one set, so I don't think they're "specs"-like systems.

Don't worry about them. Have you passed by the digital cameras on the A46 Sratford to Alcester single lane where the big hill is with a pub at the top, the Cameras are on the opposite side of the road looking at you so you slow down for the wrong one. The one at the bottom is looking at you when you go up the hill and the one at the top is looking at you when you go down the hill. The answer is DONT SPEED and it wont get you. Have fun finding speed cameras.
Dave

O' Nearly forgot the white cameras on the motorway bridges over the three lanes are incident cameras and check registration plates. I told you not to worry

davespencer,

have you got any more information or pointers on these cameras?

It is kinda scary that the police are now routinely tracking our movements - possibly (probably!!!!) even when there is no actual "incident"!?!?!
