Default Air Con re-charge ?

Hi
Anyone recommend a local air-con regas place near Ruislip?
I know twit-fit do them but worry about how competent they may be?
I'd rather pay a tenner more and get it done well!

Any ideas?

Been planning it for a while, and as Maggs said nope. The bracketry for the under bonnet stuff will be fairly simple but adding the rad and changing the heater matrix a bit more complex - and I have no intentions of removing the dash to get my matrix out at this time

Thumbs down Gas swap

Swapping the gas isnt as easy as it sounds.

The correct procedure to carry out would be a pressure test, system evacuation to remove dirt water etc. Then a recharge with virgin refrigerant. and commision to ensure correct running parameters.

The tools and "qualifications" required to do this job arent cheap, therefore unfortunately people who arent wise about the procedure are easily ripped off with prices.

I had a chat to the chap in Maggys link, as the system was still blowing cold, I just wanted a re-charge, he actually recommended Thick-Twits!! -as they buy the gases in bulk they can do it cheaper - However, if you have problems, then he is the man to see, as he can fault find and diagnose issues in the car.......(which KF would struggle with)!
So 0.42kg drained and 4ml of oil, and recharged with 0.82kg and 16ml oil -cool -literally!

Cool for a week....boohoo......the pump spat its innards out, think the seal around shaft may have been failing, but the re-fil did it no good haha!!
Looked like melted gunge all around the pump pulley.

Sourced another....hopefully it will arrive soon!
