Probably the usual figure given by sellers these days, crap! folk seem to like to add an extra few hundred bhp to make it sell better.

thats what im thinking at the moment Jay, it has "swoosh" gauges installed in the middle pod on the dash, water temp dont work, just goes to 120 after 5 mins, oil pressure gauge seems to work ok but both are dimly lit and boost gauge only reaches 14psi, has a adjustable boost controller (bleed type) i turnt it up, gauge still showing 14psi yet hit boost cut??? car was meant to be mapped, not yet lifted carpet to look at ecu yet, car is also meant to be fitted with a sti block and box due to engine frailer. i cant see a vac pipe going in to the car so im assuming the boost gauge is wired in to ecu or a sender some where??? iv not noticed ant thing under the bonnet though

its nice, been painted at some point, got some rust bubbles around a wing and rear 1/4s little bit of lacquer peal on a rear 1/4 and need to wrap the roof due to it having a scoop stuck on it that wasnt to my taste at all resulting in it leaving its mark on the roof lol, i just keep getting worried as im out of my comfort zone a bit, 8 years tuning 20vT then making the move to this, i know i used to shove imprezas out the way in my old leons but wasnt expecting this to feel like it does on the move...its a missile off the line mind and i dont think any of my last 3 leons would have stood a chance but on the move...not so quick (IMO)

BLEED VALVE
1st thing I would get rid off, Will end in tears if you mess with it to much!! probably why its had a new engine, and the previous owner got rid!!

Get a proper ecu on there and properly mapped, you will notice a big difference in how the power spreads of the rev range!! makes the drive so much better!!!

Give us some engine bay pics. Looks like a phase 1.5 97/98 which can't be mapped iirc

What the mark on the roof?
Scoob removal?
Or Flap Removal?

It's a UK car from Sept 1998 so should have the revised bumper I think?

might be that the person before has just bolted loads of bits like the front mount , air filter and so on then just thought it was now running 100 bhp more, so could do with a mapper looking at it or get a re map

as i said trooper 1815, it had a scoop bonded to the roof, i didnt like it at all so heated it up and pulled it off but it took the paint it was stuck to with it.
im not a bleed valve fan, i turnt it up 2 clicks and hit boost cut, frightened the cr@p out of me lol but i hadnt gone over 100 in till then so dont know if it did it before
the car is a 1998 uk car apparently running a import closed deck lump and short through box
apparently its running a stage 2 gready clutch kit, TD05, remap, warlbro (spelling) 225 fuel pump, uprated injectors (cant remember the flow rate) a import inlet mani (used to be blue looking at some flaked paint iv found on it) full race manifold, decat, catback, front mount cooler, HKS mushroom filter (not a lot else will fit in the gap lol) bleed valve and baileys dump valve the power claim was 320-330 from the seller
friend of mine has taken it out he has had uk classic and been in a few imports said it deffo feels 290 to 300 but he is comparing that to his 2013 audi S3 (heavy lump of a car)

sorry for the bluntness of that but you have asked what the markings on the roof are after i said what they was from and now stated that dvla (thank you for doing a check on my car for me by the way) is actually as i said it was... out of interest should a sept 98 have the face lift bumper or the current one?? im a bigger fan of this one i have any ways my self but would like to know if it has been changed at some point

It will be a euro import in that colour on a 98 plate.

Sbould be able to see markings on the turbo casing somewhere, that will be a good clue to if the claims are bull**** or not

When somebody fits a bleed valve that instantly tells you that they know **** all and everything they tell you should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Get the car to a dyno and have it checked over, my bet will be its been poorly modified and not been mapped to suit. Just speaking from experience, a £50 dyno run with someone who knows what they are doing will reveal all.
And yep, the car can be mapped with that ecu but it just needs a different method.

So no sign of a remap and had a recent engine, a load of mods and a bleed valve, probably hence the new engine and the seller selling it, get it properly checked out and mapped and get that silly bleed valve off it or it will be looking for another engine quite soon.

cheers guys, will get it on a dyno iv turnt the boost down on it now, does go well but imo deffo not the power claim it came with, also noticed the check engine light flickers now and then to assume thats the decat and lambda etc, found a couple of missing bolts at weekend 2 being a gearbox mount. i am gutted on this car and shocked that ppl can come out with a lot just to get rid of a car and do honest ppl over, seller has been good tho he claims he will sort me a turbo out (td05 and a vf unit) another set of injectors and a fair few other bits, if he sticks with this then im happy and have my self a little project again, do love driving it tho, much better than my last 2 non turbo imprezas

If it's reddish blue (65C) then it will quite likely be a UK car. Colour was avalable 1996 - 1998 in the UK!

As F1 said, reddish blue is a uk colour. The Euro imports in blue were MY99/00 models in sonic blue. It's also worth noting that sonic blue was available (although I think it might be a different shade to imports) on UK cars in the form of the Terzo model in 1998.
