MY98 Impreza Wagon Turbo 2000 project
Hello everyone! I've recently bought a 98 impreza from a work colleague for £500, He was going to scrap it due to various problems and not having the money to sort them out due to a new arrival in his family.
....So as you've guessed I felt sorry for the old girl and gave him the money that the breakers offered.
I had advertised this for sale recently (some of you may have seen this on gumtree Glasgow) But pulled her from sale for a few reasons, one being it wouldn't start the day before a buyer had arranged to come and get her.
It has 2 previous owners, 186k miles (not sure if this is good or bad lol)
17" wheels (off a newage wrx maybe)
Turbo back exhaust (unsure of make)
Turbo up-pipe (unsure of make)
Uprated fuel pump (unsure of make)
Induction kit (unsure of make and will probably renew)
Front strut brace
4 pot front brakes (seized )
and a few other things like mudflaps and clear lights.
Also came with (but unfitted) an sti rear spoiler and sti rear lights.
Like most things you get for your money, it needs a few things done, So far I have bought new front calipers, pads and discs, rear pads and discs, braided hoses, a service kit and a few other bits and bobs.
My main concern is the rust at the rear arches and rear sills which I will be repairing myself, which may take forever at this rate lol.
Plans for the winter will be to sort out the rust and underseal the rest of the car so she will last a few more years
Managed to get the spoiler sprayed and the rear lights, here are a few pictures.
Let me know what you all think
