Yeah I can't argue with that
I did make the assumption that in the course of a 400bhp build all of the old Subaru installed 2.5 skeletons would be cleared out.
Properly (re) built it would make a great road car with a mountain of torque.

Nice car.
Difficult to point the finger of blame at any one component, it's regarded as a combination of things but it would appear that the pistons and head gaskets are prone to failure on these cars.
Some advocate that the map is to blame whereas the OEM studs bolting down the head gaskets have also been questioned, and many of us on here will talk about the cast "hypereutectic" pistons being made of chocolate as they are known to melt or shatter.
The body of opinion on here supported by anecdotal evidence suggests that tastefully remapping a stock engine is probably favourable to its lifespan, and a rebuild with forged pistons and uprated head gaskets is a permanent fix. However, as these components are capable of dealing with higher tolerances (and other parts aren't) many people use it as an excuse to uprate the engine connecting rods, bearings and other components.
Basically, if you want 400bhp without a piston flying out of the side fenders on the M65 then you'll be looking at a forged engine rebuild!

Nice car!
My hawk is running just over 360 but that's after a forged blueprint rebuild
Hate to say this but that last picture looks a bit "suspicious" in as much as the women looks superimposed over the rest if the image?
