Default Newage (Blob) FMIC

Looking for some pics of Blobeyes with the bumper cut for a FMIC

Can't decide wether to keep the black strip (the one just under the number plate) or cut it away.

Thanks

I had this dilemma to, opted to keep the strip, but that might still change TBH:-

Have you bought a FMIC yet? I have a brand spanking new HDI one that I got anodized black, after getting the go ahead from HDI and having my Anodizers make up sealing bungs etc. Tuners didn't see the point in fitting it over the Autobahn88 THING fitted on currently so they sprayed that black for me. I would take anodized every time personally.

I'd cut it away if it was mine.

i was going to but then decided to try and keep the car oem looking.

i failed miserably though.

the grill attaches to the black bit though thats why its still there, i was hoping you wouldnt be able to see the fmic but it stands out a mile.

Tubbs, I have a full cover Zunsport grill but due to the bar being cut before I got it, I currently have nowhere to attach the top of the grill to! Figure I can bodge something well enough to allow the grill to be screwed in, if I ever get around to it.......

Ar, if it had been there when I bought the car I would have cut out the majority of it for maximum intercooler performance but would have left the edge sections to mount the grill.

This is what I think I am going to do.....leave the outer couple of inchs so the grill can still attach and then cut out the centre part and budge my smaller plate up a little. I reckon the splitter helps throw abit more air into the intake as well.

Guys, not sure I have the room to squeeze it in anywhere but can you tell me where you have sourced your intake feed kits from please?

Could you not drill 2 small holes in above where the grill sits and put 2 small cable ties holding it in,

i have no idea how far back these sit sorry never seen one in the flesh before so this may not work

Looks miles better without it !!!

Im not a fan of those zunsport grills anyway.
I know people fit the grills to pretect the cooler but in my experience the coolers really aren't as vulnerable as you may think. It would need to be a bloody big rock to damage the core.

I've already bought one unfortunately.

Still very undecided. I really like the OEM look, and cutting the black bit out makes a mess of the bumper at the sides where it meets the IC.

But then it would allow more air to the cooler.

Hmmmmmm.

If it makes no difference I may leave it, maybe cut the back part of the plastic out to maximum the airflow I will have.

Keep it hides the inward shape of the IC as well

Mine was installed before I got it and was for a wing mounted intake. They are available on eBay though

Are you sure? I would think cold air hitting the intercooler at 70+mph would be much better than dirty air around it whilst being worked hard

Think I like the look better without it, but I would have to spray the Intercooler black I think, nice matte black. Stealth look.
Done that on my Pulsar GTiR looked cool, but that was on a black car.

Bugeye I know, but still, the front looked so much better with a black cooler. I think it all depends on the car colour too.

Black strip removed too
