Default My CS400 Cosworth Hatch and S202 RA Bugeye

In October last year I sold my Blobeye Widetrack STI with the PPP and my RS Clio 200 Sport Cup and bought a Cosworth STI hatch from Mangoletsi Subaru of Knutsford, no.54 of 75

So not too far off a year into ownership and still very much in love. It's an absolutely cracking car. I've owned a couple of other Subarus before, both Prodrive STI models.

I've largely kept her standard but added a few small improvements, mainly engine bay bling and small tweaks. I've got a few JDM bits coming over from Japan in a few days, a 30th birthday present to myself.

I've had the car detailed recently and having just covered 5000 miles thought I'd take her for a blast. The engine is loosening up quite nicely but she drives like the day I picked her up. Since the hasty run in when I first picked her up I've tried to use her mainly at weekends.

A nice photo opportunity arose last night while I was out and about so I thought I'd share them with you all.

I welcome all comments, positive and not so

Lovely looking car you have there. Is the spoiler on the rear below the window standard?

This is a discontinued part and is very difficult to get hold of. Try a breaker like JapPerformanceParts or Scooby Spares. Unfortunately it is a cover and not a single piece so you will need a donor fuel cap. To fit a classic you screw it over but for a newage you will need to belt sand a filler cap and epoxy it over - I would recommend getting a spare one like I did. The part number is st420355010

I got mine from MRT performance in Australia they did not want to part with it as it was in their display cabinet but they gave it to me at a fair price after a few pestering emails

Thanks Gaz, a man with a pink car would think a Mazda 3 with Lexarse lights looked good. Yes this was at Ainsdale dunes near Southport, it was very busy and unfortunately I was unable to go for the walk I intended to do as a large crowd of people gathered round it after I parked up. There were a few Kevs in old cars sliding around but after nearly getting arrested for doing the same on a cold day when the beach was empty I haven't had the ***** to try it again!

It was designed for the classic fuel cap which is smaller than the newage one, I don't think the classic fuel cap fits a newage car.

Get a spare fuel cap and sand it down to fit, you'll need to epoxy it down. It's an easy mod. They have loads of spare fuel caps at JapPerformanceParts just ask them for one if you buy that part that way you're not damaging the original part.

I think it's important when modifying a car that anything you do can be reversed easily, or if a part requires modification that you get a separate one that can be taken on or off. I've got an OEM crossmember in my garage that was replaced with the R205 one

Didn't feel bad fitting my mud flaps but considering carefully whether or not to fit the rear varis carbon fibre exhaust heat shields and JDM Password washers and screws as they require drilling.

I wouldn't do that to any Subaru to be honest it's not worth damaging it for such cheap thrills. When the police caught up with me (three fookin cars!) I was a student in a Mk.I Focus and a young lady who was clearly very impressed by my sick skills.

Default Birthday presentsez from Japan!

So the other day I get the letter from Parcelforce telling me that those ***** from customs want to screw me of tax for buying things at vastly inflated prices because of this government's cockup with our economy and therefore currency exchange rate.

My mood was lifted about the matter when I got back from a seemingly never-ending day at work to find a parcel up to my forehead waiting and begging to be opened!

So I tore off all the packaging... which had already been chewed a bit and got the first bit out. Shiny

Which I went and fitted straight away, far better than that yellow thing. A bit of engine bay bling might not make me go faster but is always a good thing

This bit is a lot bigger and I need probably a bit more time to fit this bit, or more probably get someone to do it for me as I don't have a fully working garage at the moment

I do love aftermarket parts but sometimes it is worth going for the official branded things because the build quality is often very nice, and extra shiny

Thanks Abx yeah, it's a work of art. The finish is lovely I kind of thought it was a big piece of black plastic which is why I delayed buying it for so long. Makes the price seem more worth it, even after HMRC got the lube out.

Thought about giving you a call back in September when I took my new job but saw you'd taken a deposit? Was always set between a Cosworth and an R205 after driving them both. My mum says hi by the way!

Wouldn't sell it if I were you though Imy you may be able to buy faster cars or whatever but you won't find anything nicer

She's lovely, both of them are so friendly. You'd lose an arm if you tried to nail her to the back of my car though

Would you believe that is still a kitten?! We have a pair of Maine Coons and at barely a year of age they dwarf a normal cat. Their personality is almost dog like they're fascinating creatures.

Had to buy a dog litter tray for them recently, they've already outgrown an extra large one!

Lovely cats Maines, as you say almost a dog like personality and big! My friend has what they call in Australia an Osicat (sp?) and that is massive too... all muscle, but as soft as.

I have two rescue mogs, but keep toying with the idea of a third.... would love a British Blue.

Anyway good luck with the blinging up process, glad the cat isn't being nailed to the back of the car

Agh yeh I took hefty deposit and the poor chap didn't buy and never chased up the disposit so I spent it on some goodies

I agree doubt I'll find anything that gives me the same buzz no doubt I'll be back in one afer a few month. I have a brand new set of Ohlins ready to go on, will put her up and see what happens. If she don't sell in 4 week will slap the Ohlins on and then am off to the ring haha.

CS400 and R205
