Show me your 17" wheels that clear Brembo's
Hi all, I'm Just thinking ahead here for my RA and after I fit my Brembo brakes I will be looking to fit some 17's as the OEM one's will no longer fit.... There's a load of 17" alloys out there to choose from but not all clear the brakes and I'm unsure these days what will and what will not.
Cheers
Simon

I believe that most 17's are big enough in diameter but it is the depth that causes the problems, you need 7.5" or 8" wide to clear them. Could always drops Maggs a line and I'm sure he'll do you deal on some rota's that'll fit

As Jon says contact mags or neil@slowboy may still have 17's in the xxr527 which look pretty cool aswell

Remember folks its a version 2 classic so I wouldn't think wide wheels will be an option.

That's why I said arch-work - should be able to fit with a roll

Thanks Paul, I think it's. 7.5" width for mine here.
Thanks all I'm interested just to see what everyone is running, I do have a couple of ideas in the back of my mind but as yet nothing decided.

Rota Grid 17" 7.5J ET48.
Apparently these will clear Brembo's although I've not fit any yet. Also no arch work needed with these, even with 50mm lowering springs fitted.

don't you mean higher offset?
The lower the offset, the greater the clearance is for the brakes
.....and not all 7.5j et48 wheels will clear STi Brembo's, although some with et53 do
Confusing aint it

Nah, arches is a different matter altogether..... dependent on size of tyre fitted

The offset doesnt mean diddley, its all about the shape of the back of the spokes! Offset helps though obviously as moving the mating flange in moves the spokes out.
For an option that doesnt envolve arch work and sticks with a 7" and 215 45 tyre, innovit redlines fit. Its close, but fits!

Yeah sorry higher, but your probably right there too, suppose it depends on style/make of rim.

Steve has suggested hub but it restricts me in the future really so I will stick with 100pcd.

Come on Si, there's plenty of nice 17's available in 5x114 and your hubs will be coming off for refurb anyway so you know it makes sense
