My little track ready project
Just a small project to get my scoob track ready/safe. No where near the scale or complexity of Lee's or some of the other builds, just to make sure that the scoob doesn't blow up and stops on the track.
First thing was to chuck away the crappy water overflow bottle supplied with the FMIC pipework. Got this instead, and I'm not that keen on shiny/silver so had great fun painting. I'm a bit partial to black.
Catch can was essential and I got a real taste for spraying. Then it was a new header tank, I know this is cosmetic but I love it.
The main thing I was worried about was loosing oil pressure and the oil overheating. Luckily I know this brill mechanic; Tim, that has made me a custom oil baffle tank. This is defo my favourite thing, hand made by him. I thought I was just getting a baffle plate and then he turned up with this monster. Proper skilful guy.
Not sure why I've put off upgrading my brakes off for so long. Dead impressed with the K-Sport. I got the 8 pot 356mm kit off the group buy on here. Thanks Apex
Gauges were the obvious next thing needed. Also got myself a knock sensor (thanks chrisdicko)
Due to track noise restrictions and some of my neighbors complaining, I took the plunge and replaced my full decated Afterburner system with a full decated MIlltek system (Thanks to Powerstation)
I did have a Turbosmart dump valve (I know a bit chavy - but I do love the noise) but after a while i did start doing my nut in. Went back to the OE R/Valve. Had to make a crazy pipe to get round.
I'd be interested in seeing what other people have done to get around this.
A big thanks to the people that helped me on this. A big thanks to Dunacn (racedynamics) too.
Also a massive thanks to Arkwright & Hill's
Cheers

cheers guys
Martin - I bought the knock sensor off another member. I think I did see another one flying about the sale section - not sure if it's still there, but you could just get it from http://www.phormula.co.uk/KnockDetection-KS-3.aspx
cheers
