My Project
Since owning a scoob (quite a few scoobs infact) for a number of years - I finally decided that I wanted to make one "my own" and bought a 555sti with a blown engine.
Although the engine had blown - the guy I bought it from did have another engine on a pallet - which was meant to be a a fully forged sti Version 8 bottom end. Unfortunately, this was not the case
So, I had away with that and chose to look for something bigger and better
Came across someone selling a 2 3.5 built by API - was good for lots of power. So I bought that. Not realising however, that you can't just buy that sort of power and put it in with the other "standard" componants
So then bought some sti fully ported heads with uprated cams, new seals etc. Had it all put together, then managed to get hold of a reconditioned sc46 Turbo. alongwith some 740 injectors, HUGE air filter, 6 speed gearbox and an excedy twin clutch. What started as a "cheap" project - was starting to become a little pricey LOL.
At first when I got the car, as you can see in the pictures with 555 decals, looked OK in the pics, but upclose it had laquer peel in places, a dent in the roof (think someone sat on it).
So after a bit of deliberation and difference colour thoughts - I decided to get it in the paint shop and have a total respray. Originally I thought to go with a nice black and have the green "monster" stickers, or maybe cusco graphics - but felt that alot of that had been done before and I see quite alot of graphics round here.
So I chose purple - not everyones cup of tea, but it does look "different".
I've coupled the purple with kawasaki green powder coated brembos, hoses, and brake linings - all the little things. Water hoses are purple.
The wheels are now in being refurbed and I'm having them anthracite.
I've had the interior flocked, dash, centre console, roof lining, door cards etc. - which looks awesome, black and purple.
Can't wait to start this baby up - its taken 10 months to get to where I am now. Just waiting for the hoses to be connected under the bonnet and a few other bits and pieces, sadly, I've been let down quite a bit from my mechanically minded friends keep letting me down
But I thought I would share the "project" so far - starting with pics at the beginning
Then we started to strip:
Once stripped - off to the paint shop:
Whilst in the paint shop - my other little goodies were arriving (much to the wifes annoyance) LOL
And then it all goes together - unfortuantely the camera does not do the paint job and colour enough justice - and it will look better in person
Inside
Just waiting to get a few snaps of the car fully painted now - with the doors on etc. And of course - the engine all wired and hosed up

Update: the car is now down in Surrey being put together by TFS Racing - Stew is doing a wicked job cause he's had MANY hurdles to overcome so far.
Went down there today and this is how she's looking
