Some very good photos there Gary
Which corner was photo 4 taken at? If you hook the inside wheel over that kerb it looks like you could gain an advantage.

Never been to the ring, can you camp nearby if you were to drive round the track on a normal day?

there is a massive campsite literally a couple of minutes from the circuit... plus dozens of B&B's and hotels
http://www.rentocamp.com/camping-am-nuerburgring.htm <-- have stayed there and was happy enough... clean showers/toilets... close to the circuit.... friendly staff

I went to N24 this year as well (previously been LM24 ona couple of occasions).
Personally, I think N24 blows LM24 out of the water in pretty much every respect.

I'm led to believe it was how Le Mans used to be before it became overly commercial and chavvy.
To answer the question of where the 4th pic was taken, it was Hatzenbach.
STi pic as requested.
With regards to camping things are a little different than normal. With 250,000 people present it's a bit more difficult to get a decent pitch, but it can be done.
If anyone wants any more info just nip over to
