Default type R Story

Bought the car back in Feb 2009 as an almost std Version 4 type R.

First mod was to add a facelift front end tidy up the paint work.

Back from the paint shop with a new look.

Wheels were a little tatty so I had them resparyed.
Before.

After.

Next on the list was to upgrade the brakes front & rear.
Front
[img]
Rear

Engine work starts.
Heat wrap on the full decat Blitz as well as the proted headrers.

Inlet manifold painted.

Next on the shopping list was a set of BC Racing coilovers.

Initial set up.

Front end looked a little bare so the V6 splitter was fitted.

New steering wheel fitted.

Suspension was then set up correctly with a 4 wheel alignment.

Next was a start on the ECU to ensure the car was running sweet.
Simtek being fitted.

Defi's & knocklink installed to monitor what the engine was doing.

Second round on engine mods. Bigger turbo, TMIC etc.

Finished product so far.............. .

Car was off the road over the winter but 2011 has seen a few changs so far.
Car was taken away on the back of Drews pick-up for a few new mods and an MOT.

Whiteline goodies. ARB's, ALK, Droplinks & H brace.

Also new for 2011 a smart set of Revolution Millenium 18's.

Few pics of the original decals for the rear quarters, boot, wings & fog covers back on the type R.

Jonny hard at work. Big thanks for fitting. Pics don't do them justice.

P1 WRC wheels are very nice but the Milleniums make the car look a bit more aggressive.

Phil, did you use any spacers when using the 18" OZ P1's with the Brembo's?

A chap is asking about clearance with them; https://www.scoobynet.com/wheels-tyr...l#post10013281
