Well, yes the Morettes aren't the prettiest things in the world.
BUT.
They work
They have HID so I can see where I'm going.
They're only ugly compared to, say, a classic P1 or similar. Compared to a standard bugeye they are, in my humble opinion, like comparing Cameron Diaz with Waynetta Slob. And Miss Diaz gets my vote.
Bugeye =
Oh, and they're mine, and I like 'em. So there.

Steve, you're not an idiot.
Possum Link is a replacement ECU. When matched with a decent exhaust it should be good for, apparently, around 300bhp.
It also makes the check engine light go out when you run a decatted pipe. Which is as good a reason for doing it as any. Oh, and it may do more to the gallon as well

Mikee, the difference between tastes is one of the things that raises us above the beasts
Personally, I don't really like gold wheels that much, but I do like the stealth look of a dark car with dark wheels.
Horses for courses and all that. Thanks for the kind words anyway

Well, here it is with the smoked lights & indicators.
Show me the vents and I'll pop 'em in. In the meantime, I've just removed the front reflectors as well.
Hmm. Maybe it *isn't* finished yet after all...

Very Nice!!!!
Agreed with above - lose the orange indicators
What was the best upgrade - the breaks or the suspension??
Ive got a lowly eibach set-up on my MY01 - would i like the better suspension or the breaks (assuming i cant afford both !!!)
Cheers

Phil, thanks for the warning!
Jza, the brakes are fantastic but whether they would be as good without the suspension is something I can't comment on. I've heard reasonable things about the Eibach suspension setup, so I guess go for the brakes forst and then at least you don't have to cough it all up at once. Maybe you won't need to upgrade the suspension?
I've ordered a set of reflector blanks which I'll spray body colour...

Where did you get the blanks from ? - I was looking at the ones at TSL (www.tsl-motorsport.co.uk - look under newage / styling / lighting ) - how are you going to paint them - do you mix your own paint etc ?
Never thought I'd say it - but pimp tints might be the way to go as well!

Hi Warbs,
I'll never go for pimp tints. Not my bag at all, I'm afraid.
I've simply ordered a set of reflectors which I will sand smooth and spray with Tamiya Telefonica Blue, which is as close to being exactly the right colour as makes no difference.
The TSL ones are a good alternative, IMO, especially if you don't want to paint your own.
Looking at that pic again makes me think that I probably should consider getting the lights smoked as well...

You've seen the rear light set from TSL - it's not on their site but trouser posted a message in here recently with light and shaded rear sets for MY01 - shaded probably not dark enough....have you any experience of the NovaBoy-tint-it-yerself spray paints for light sets ?
Dumb question maybe : Do you need to lacquer the Tamiya paint or does it have a special finish all by itself ? I'm tempted by this - it reduces significantly the cost of one or two things I was thinking of....

I've not seen the TSL rear lights, but I'll go have a rummage now.
The Tamiya paint is self finishing. Just spray lots of thin coats and be prepared for some ultra fine wet and dry work before it's completely right.
I know you'll check anyway, but do make sure that the colour really does match before you commit...

Phil, that will look absolutely fantastic on a silver car
I'm not sure about DBM either. I think, as Warbs suggests, I may need to take a look at the DIY tiniting options out there. Or just leave them alone - they don't look bad after all...
