show me ur front entry turbo set ups
#2
No joy yet mate?
Can any one put up pics of their early classic with front entry inlet pipe, PS mods etc.?
Fitted a TD05 20G FE to 1994 classic JDM, now fitted inlet pipe and moving PS reservoir, later PS pump etc.
Wants to soo how else it was done!
Thanks

Ok, not a problem.
The early cars had a turbo with a bend on the air inlet which meant it bent upwards before the manifold pipes into the MAF and airbox.
Later cars had the turbo air inlet straight frowards, so called front entry. These had inlet pipes that ran under the manifold to near the radiator and then MAF and airbox etc.
So if you fitted a later turbo, or had a new or hybrid turbo, the turbo entry was straight ahead.
The car above has a TD05 20G - bigger, hybrid turbo fitted in std position, which has this front entry air inlet.
The aim above is to use a front entry straight in inlet hose, which may ( or not ) improve air flow, spool, maybe power or torque..
It does mean, on early cars lifting the inlet manifold 10 - 20 mm, and moving the power steering reservoir out of the way, and/or changing the PS pump.
All to make room for the new inlet pipe.
The OP is looking for how others have done theirs...
