From Frayz pic this is the same trumpet and just cut out the mesh and attach. This is an interim as I plan to make some custom fog covers now that I am lampless which will be a standard bug/prodrive bumper hybrid style. I have some BMW E30 bumper vents to use for the custom ones

Just got a secondhand foglight surround, glued the mesh in place and then mounted the flexi-pipe directly behind. I dont know what the bugeye foglight surrounds are like, but you can get pre-meshed covers off e-bay for bugeyes. Hope you eventually get what your looking for..

a little untidy, but does the trick I think I will take the covers off mine and see what is behind

3" is 76mm and is as big as you really want to go on the front of the car. Much bigger and it will look daft.
You will be amazed at just how much air a 3" port will flow. You also have to route the hose. 3" hose is perfect for routing and is the perfect size to fit into the stock airbox.
Try bigger if you want but you honestly wont gain any more.

phil739- when i wrote loud i meant because of the colour! however you can here the air being sucked in induction hose in the inner wing, you can also hear the stock bov venting
