Smile My cars (new and old)

Well I have eventually gotten around to shoving some pics up on photobucket, some of my new (well 10 year old) Type R, my much newer Astra 1.9 CDTI and a few of my old scoobs/cars

First is the Type R

Had her since December last year, she needed some work but she is low mileage and im getting there (slowly but surely )
Pics of the rear end, I have just had half the panels resprayed due to corrosion but its a good job (even the roof before some bird sh** on it leaving a slight stain before I could get out and polish her )

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC_5997.jpg
http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC_5996.jpg
http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...968/N95264.jpg (as of jan 09)
http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC_5994.jpg

Now you keen eyed people will notice that the last one looks different (paint wise) well its not actually different, just that I polished the painted panels before the heavens opened up and I need to clay the doors, wings and bonnet before I can polish the rest of her otherwise the paint has been matched perfectly
(Roof, boot, front part of bumper, both rear wings have been blended as the arches have been redone due to stonechips/rust, abeit very minor).

Next is just the one of my first scoob

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC00211.jpg

She was sold not long back with 46k on the clock (march/april time, 2 owners) but I had her from may 2000 to sept/oct 03 and she had a/c fitted, 17 inch PD7's in antracite (bit of a trend setter back in 2001 ) Brembo 4 pots with 308mm AP discs (off a fiat turbo coupe with some mods to fit), Defi's, knocklink, PPP, decat downpipe (some minor things to stop her detting also), side protector strips, top of the range clifford alarm and tracker.
Great car just a little flawed

Ah my favourite loved this car, she is up for sale in scotland just now, done 6k in 2 years, never would have sold her if I had known more about my new job and the overall take home wage
Standard except the back box and STI panel filter, alarm and tracker

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...B2004-0059.jpg

On to some of my more recent cars, first (well they are both vauxhall's which makes a change to my peugeot fettish ) the 2.5TD omega (2000 W reg)

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...968/N95199.jpg

Auto, full black leather, heated seats, BMW turbo diesel (chipped to 160bhp) and still did 40mpg! loved that car for its cruising ability and out right luxury (and the BIG boot!)

Anyway, I sold her as I decided I needed less cc and more go (plus better economy) so here she is

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC_5990.jpg

Ok I wish
Try this one instead!

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...968/N95238.jpg

She is only a 120 but 16v great little car does me for work etc, does 50mpg, doesnt drink oil, run flat tyres, auto wipers, auto lights, 8 airbags, what more do you want?

And finally, just sold this to a nice lad who came down from Scotland, she was a great little car not actually that much wrong with her, still a bit of lacqueur peel which he was going to get his mate to sort (sprayer) and she was damn nice

http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC_5686.jpg
http://i632.photobucket.com/albums/u...8/DSC_5685.jpg

167bhp, FSH, 97k miles, great to drive, great engine just french

Very nice.

What was the reason you went for Fiat Coupe Brembo's?

She's not too bad had a fair bit of work done so far, not perfect but she was pretty good for her age, full service (everything done), just had some rusty bits resprayed (arches/rear wings blown in, roof, boot lid), looks as though one time she has had a small impact on the rear though all that has been sorted out and you cannot tell now
Interior is pretty immaculate for her age, even smells new inside but some bodged wiring has been sorted out (was a real mess behind the consol ) and the original security system removed (it was just hanging down behind the steering column) and some decent security added
New front speakers (one was shot and the other was bodged with cardboard that had deteriorated) so she is still a bit of a work in progress but getting there slowly

I actually bought this 308mm brembo set up off here back in around 2001/02, cost me 650 quid and I sold my normal 4 pots for 250 (so 400 quid really) and it was a bit of a mix n match, but it did the job pretty well tbh with you, especially with the AP discs I replaced after another 5k miles and the mintex 1144 pads, really did stop well from speed and they fitted under 16's (though I had then upgraded to 17's before getting this and it was about 1k cheaper than an AP setup )
