Default Gave my Type R a clean

Gave the old girl a birthday today

She's been through a lot over the past 6 months and finally she's running A1.

I bought the car and turned out I'd been had over as the engine was dead. Originally I was going to just put another std engine in, then I decided to flog it as a non runner.

Anyway, after much debating I decided to get busy and go for a 2.5 conversion, big turbo and see what 350+ftlb torque would be like in a Type R.

The car now runs 2.5 STI block, p1 heads, cometic HG's, ARP studs, RCM oil pump, Lateral modfified injectors, Front mount, exedy paddle clutch and light weight flywheel, power FC mapped by JGM and many other bits that have cost me a fortune along the way!

Decided to sell the car and got some pics readt for an advert, thought some may be interested..

Hi James,

Car looks superb. Can't believe it's been 6 months since you bought it. I watched with a little interest as I was watching it on eBay as well. I remember you selling the RA and going to get this and was sorry to see what happened with it.

Was always my concern that much as love type Rs, buying one for £5-6K could end up costing £9k should it need a rebuild. Type R or bug/hawk STi - I can never decide!

Good luck with the sale, car looks fantastic.

Thanks. Your concern with this model is felt by a lot of people I'm sure, it does seem that if it hasn't had an engine it will need one shortly. This was why I went for the newage STI bottom end as they are better/revised in the crank dept!

I've priced it at £7995 and it represents amazing value for the spec of the car.. it owes me a lot more and it's only when you start something like this you realise how much time and money it takes.

Agreed. Think you have gone the right route and to get that completed car for that price is a good buy. All the best with it

Thanks guys. I do think it's a good price but it's just a case of waiting for someone seriously interested to come and have a drive to get hooked on it.
