Well the day you pick your new car up is ment to be full of excitment and joy......not so for this flippin motor!
I had to wait a month for it to be ready for collection as was nocking from the bottom end when I went to view the car. I was assured it would be rebuilt with a new crank and new block (so you dont mind waiting a month when you think about how good it will be when you get it).
Two hours drive in my wagon and we eventually get up to the showroom on collection day, the sun is out and she is nice and shiney as you can see in the pics.
A short test drive later (not at high revs due to the rebuild) and there is steam coming from the bonnet!!!
I'm told it was just some excess coolent from the service the day before....ok no worries.
Half an hour down the motorway and she over heats!!
More water and time to cool down and off we go again.
Then half an hour from home there was the biggest cloud of steam ive ever seen come from the bonnet!!!
It had only blown the side off the radiator!! ARGGGGGGG, WHY ME!!
Good old RAC took me home, and there it stoped for the night.
The next day I had a new radiator fitted and a power bleed incase it was just an AIR LOCK!! LOL
On the test drive.........miss miss...cough.....pop! Steam out the exhaust and she cut out!
You all know what comming.....thats right it was the head gasket!
When the engine had been rebuilt, the numpty that had done it had forgot to tighten the drivers side head down all the way!
If I didn't have bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all!! lol

Well after a few long phone conversations I managed to get the work done at a garage I trust and have used for ages. The dealer did pay for most of it, but im still out of pocket.
The car was £5000

Why should you be out of pocket, as a trader they have a legal obligation to sell you a car with a 3-month warranty - you haven't even taken delivery and already you are already spending money on repairs, that's just not right

Sorry to hear about all your troubles, also, strange way of taking the engine out, with the wheels and suspension still attatched
Anyway, dont forget to get your tyres changed, because the ones on it now are snow tyres which many people use in Japan.... very soft and only handle well in the snow.
BUT, I would take them off, put them onto a cheap set of rims, then when the snowy season comes, you wont be disappointed Thats the good thing about Japanese imports, a lot of them come with "studless" tyres, only thing is that most people dont have a clue what they are
Put them on, on a snowy day, and you'll be wondering what all the fuss is about when people say its hard to drive in the snow....those tyres are (in the snow)

No mate, the shell was mint but what you can see is the white underseal I have used.
Now how the hell did you notice the tyres???
Ive been warned about these and have got two being fitted at the weekend, then save for two more.
