EVO X DEVELOPMENT.. 56k BE WARNED!
Hello all,
I am new to the site having just become a Scooby fan and thought I would share some info regarding my EVO X. The car started its life as a fq300 and it was a perfect base for my project… Here are some pictures when it was standard:
Having enjoyed the car standard for the first 4,000 miles I felt it was time for some minor stage one modifications. The Racing Line came to the rescue with their experience and amazing attitude “If we can make it we will”. They quickly got about designing their own true 3” exhaust system and custom fuel pump carrier. Anyway the car was crying out for lowering so that was quickly sorted along with fast road geometry setup… the pictures should tell the story:
With the extra grunt that turned the evo x from a tame comfortable daily driver to a BEAST! I decided the exterior could do with some improvement, so with the addition of wheels and aero the car suddenly looked a lot more meaningful:
After proving this stage of tune to be reliable having done 15,000 further miles it was time to test the evo x out on track. The chassis was just amazing however the need for coilovers became apparent, and from this outing we gained knowledge of what we felt could improve the cars track manner…
Now suddenly track orientated improvements were at the forefront of our agendas however this was mainly a road car … both power and handling would now be addressed, this part of the project is still ongoing and we are hoping for completion sometime soon. The aim is for an excellent daily driver but still to be competitive at the track. The Racing Line set about some more development of the EVO X but this time it was time to open up the 4b11 engine….
Although this is not a Scooby I hope it makes for interesting viewing…. I may have a Scooby soon
Kind regards,
GUM
