Default My97 Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000

Well, I`ve been on here for quite some time now, think it was back in 2006 when I first joined and bought my first Impreza. But that was a mistake as it had to be broke for spares and finally scrapped.

So, I bought a MK4 Golf 1.8T and have spent the last 2 years modifying it, but it`s now at show standard and don`t wont to use it as my daily driver.

Almost there.....................................

After spending the past couple of weeks searching Ebay, Pistonheads, Autotrader and the for sale section on here, I`ve just bought this today;

It`s a 1997 Impreza Turbo 2000 with HKS induction kit, Baily dump valve, BK racing chrome wheels, Toad Cat 1 alarm system, almost full service history, folder full of paperwork, recent engine rebuild, just been serviced, taxed and MOT`d.

Ok, it`s not in mint condition, both bumpers have a couple of minor cracks at the bottom, small dent on passenger wing, but`s that`s it. So with a bit of TLC it will be looking good as new.

Oh, and yes the wheels will be replaced, just not decided which ones.

Picking it up tomorrow as I couldn`t get it back today so another early start for tomorrow as it`s a good hour and a half drive.

Will post more photos when I get it back tomorrow.

Thanks for the comments so far on both cars

The wheels now need to go ASAP as I had a flat tyre yesterday and when I had it checked out, they found that the tyre wasn`t sealing to the wheel because the chome was pealing and corrosion had set in The rest aren`t looking to special as well.

So I`m now looking for another set of wheels ASAP, quite like the gold wheels but not 100% sure what to go for

Would really need to see first but from what you have said, I don`t think the black bumper would work, could be wrong though.

Default Update

Well, my first few months of Scooby ownership has been costly.

Back in February I discovered my coolant bottle was empty. Took it in and the head gasket was found to be the cause of the problem. So, out came the old engine and in went a fully forged MY96 STI RA Engine with the following spec;

1996 CLOSED DECK ENGINE, BUILT FROM GENUINE TYPE RA STI
JE FORGED PISTONS RE-BORED TO 92.5MM
EAGLE FORGED STEEL H BEAM RODS ARP BOLTS
VERSION 9 CROSS DRILLED TUFTRIDED CRANK
ACL RACE SERIES BEARINGS
HIGH PRESSURE OIL PUMP
ARP HEAD STUD CONVERSION, COMETIC GASKETS (1.3MM)
WRX HEADS

Then a VF22 turbo was fitted with GT Spec headers/manifold.

Car already had a full decat system on so desperate to start driving it again a trip to Powerstation to have Simtek was in order. Great people to deal with and very helpful. After a day of waiting, a missfire was found so had to go back this week to get that fixed and to finish of the mapping.

This is the result;

Very impressed, considering I`m still running the standard TMIC, fuel pump and injectors.

Only problem now is........ I want more power.

A couple of recent pics;

Both my babies;

Next immediate mods are FMIC, Injectors, fuel pump and better induction kit setup now that I`m Mafless. Then back to Powerstation to get the mods mapped and try and get to the 300bhp mark.
