Default Bugeye Spoiler question please ?

Ok i have a low lip spoiler and have just brought a Sti v7 spoiler (From another Bugeye!) (Should be here tomorrow via a S/N member!)

My question is will the sti v7 spoiler bolt straight on and the bolt holes in the same place as a low level spoiler ? Ie on the boot lid etc...

Cheers!

Old spoiler to take off...

If it's a genuine spoiler you'll need to drive about 6 more holes to fit it.

Some copies limit themselves to the orginal holes. Also, if it's a fibreglass copy you may need the STi boot springs, although the genuine ones seem light enough to be lifted by the WRX boot springs.

Whoops i see i put this in the wrong section!

I believe this is a genuine spoiler and factory fitted from day 1 so i am told!

So how many bolt holes in total buddy ? And is the bolts already attached to the spoiler and just the case making holes for them so the bolts can poke through?

Someone told me you can get a guide off the net to line the new holes up to drill have you heard of this?

Cheers matey!

The STI spoiler needs 17 holes.

I've taken mine off, and four of the holes are in the correct position for the A-Line lip spoiler, but they don't look like they'd be in the same place as the ones from the WRX spoiler like yours.

I actually got a brand new plain boot lid and took a drill to it!! Scary, but it's going for paint next week anyway.

I assume there will be a template somewhere for the STI spoiler......I just used a tape measure and fine marker pen.

The STI spoiler also used several locating lugs that sit into little plastic sockets that are set into holes in the boot. I think (without going into my garage to look)there are actually 10 bolt holes and 7 locating lug holes............aaaaah hang on.....a pic may help........

I haven't mate, sorry...that's the size I put em on Photobucket

Oh yeah....the odd number is due to one hole being for the wire for the third brake light.

id use thin carboard to make a template for the bottom of the new spoiler, with lots of measuring as well also the hole for the brake light wire should be there from the old spoiler
