Default Tiny Mod

I had been looking at this for ages thinking it would look better if it was coloured like all the other STi badges.. so bank holiday i got a tiny pot of humbrol paint and done it (whilst also de-tango'ng):

It's just silver as standard isn't it (my memory is crap considering I was only in the car about 2 hours ago)? That looks like it should be standard and I may just copy you.

Can you order the paint online and what colour exactly?

Ye, as standard it is embossed and left silver. I just looked at it a few months ago sat in traffic and couldnt stop noticing it since! (how sad)

Anyways, i used Humbrol Metallic Sunset Red The Official Humbrol Website

Friend owns a model shop with a massive rack of Humbrol paints and this is as close to the STi badges as you are likely to ever get. Hold it next to them and you will see its pretty much identical (without actually being Cherry Blossom Red)

I was going to use a pin to paint it, however the metal isnt pitted so i instead wiped a tiny amount of the paint in (almost like you would with filler if you wanted to fill it) and then wiped it back off which worked really nice.

I done 3 light coats to make sure it settled perfect (because it is really really fine)

Enjoy

Edited to say: Be careful when you take this section out (if you do). Grab it by the rear of the gaitor section and lift.. it will then clip out, but be very careful of the clips underneath damaging the centre console as they look pretty sharp. Their is also a plug to the cigarette lighter that was pretty tight on mine but once out its easy.

If you didn't say it... I would have thought it was standard
That's how they should have come out of the factory!
