Default Pic request of Inovite Redline alloys on a classic

I am looking at some Gunmetal or Hyper Silver 18" Inovite Redline alloys to go on my RB5.

Any pics would help my colour choice.
Silver always appeal, as they look nice and shiney but I am drawn to the darker Gunmetal.

Thanks

I got them off a SMACS member who sold there car there not that old so got a good deal

2 tyres are due to be replaced soon so I was thinking about down sizeing to a 215 as it will be a pair then replace the front when they go I did also want to go to a 35mm tyre but I would need to replace all 4

I run the same wheels on my old Type R with a 215/35/18 and they were fine, no catching at all...

you would need to replace all 4 even if you wish to get a pair of 215mm wide tyres. the reason for this is the tyre walls are a representation in percentage in relation to the width of the tyre.

so... for a 225/40/18 tyre, the tyre wall would be 40% of 225mm (90mm high)

and for a 215/40/18 tyre the trye wall would be 40% of 215mm (86mm).

thus i would highly recommend you DO NOT change just two tyres and run 225/215 tyres on the scoob, or YOU WILL bugger your differential.

simply replace all 4 tyres at the same time unless replacing tyres of the same size all round. ask any tuner, they will say the same unless its a a4d car with naturally different tyre sizes (ie lambo's etc)

doh i might get 4 new ones then sell the 2 good ones I think I might go for the 215/35/18 to try and stop it rubbing

For your RB5 mate I'd say it has to be hyper silver
I went for gold on mine, but I can see how gunmetal would also have looked good.
I think gunmetal against grey might be a little too much grey - just my 2p's worth

That's what I'm thinking, although there are a couple on the RB5 site with Gunmetal Redline's and they look awesome, but I need to compare them with Silver on an RB5 to make sure I make the right choice.

They're nice wheels whichever colour you go for.

IIRC Scoobyclinic said to me that for a small extra amount they were offering colour coding in the colour of your choice so maybe you could get something a bit different...

I bought mine from Scoobyclinic as they're direct fit and don't require spigot rings; very good service from the guys there - they arrived the next day and include STI and Inovit centre caps (don't know if they come with those by default or not), and locking nuts as well as anti-theft standard nuts too. They seem to be one of the only places in the UK to have any stock of these ATM.

Good luck with the purchase and let us know which you go for
