08 STI - another happy customer
After a few weeks waiting for the gold GT1's to arrive I finally picked up my new STI yesterday morning from KT Greens, I'm sure it will divide opinion but I've dreamt of a WR Blue STI with gold wheels for quite a while and Subaru's new softer approach actually suits my requirements perfectly. So far, very very pleased with it. Plenty of comments at the petrol station this morning and I had to chuckle when the neighbour came across when I was washing the wheels (I remember now why I like anthracite rims, brake dust arrghh) and he couldn't decide what it was when he saw it last night, first thing he thought of was a Focus.... so I guess another confirmation that Subaru's policy of more mainstream is working?

Yep 18" GT1's, £250 a piece but not sure in total what it was, I had a p/x and just haggled on the cost to change on the deal, probs got a bit off them but nowt major. They fitted them with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres and they seem ok, never had them before.

Sweet car man! I have to say I love the New STi!
There's only two colours I'd go for though! Black With the Silver wheels or Blue with the Gold!
DEfo first choice would be Blue with the gold as it's hard to say it's a focus in that colour!
Best of luck with it!

I still can't say enough how much I think these look better in the flesh, you just don't seem to get the stance/propotions of the car from photo's, not my efforts anyway. Everyone who's commented to me who is a non-Scoob fan and therefore not seen these before says just how wide and aggressive it looks. I'm well pleased... think I looked a bit of a chump this morning walking in the from the back of the car park to the office, in the bright sunlight I kept turning round to have another glance at it!

I think you need a camera with a wide angle lens set just right to get the proper aspect of the new STi.
I took some pics of one with my Kodak point and shoot and it was amazing the difference looking at the picture and looking at the car in front of me.

HA HA, listen to them all now. Remember all those negative comments 12 months ago (not from me though).
Very nice looking cars, btw. More shots of the black one would be good.

Still the same engine, 2.5 boxer but the burble is so subtle it's virtually non-existent. Something to do with equal length headers/manifild pipes I think or is that JDM models, can't remember. I agree it needs a bit more noise but not sure what's available, I was going to hold out and see what Prodrive offer, prefer to stay on the warranty friendly route for now.

Glad to hear that you're enjoying the car and it was worth the wait for the GT1s! Sounds like you need a KTGM exhaust!
