Default fitting and autobahn fmic

omg is all i can say. i spent from 1.30 yesterday untill 8 or 9 fitting it. and i was prepared for anything lol.

BAD BITS
The instructions were ****
so was the fit.
The quality of it was average due to a crappy weld restricting half the pipe.
The brackets for the bottom of the cooler didnt fit atall so i didnt even attach them.
And as for trimming the bumper. YEA RIGHT. ive hardly got a bumper left and it doesnt even fit well with the splitter i have.

GOOD BITS
looks the nutts when its on there
autobahn have changed their rubbish clips for jubilee clips finally
blue hoses are pretty good quality
as the pressure has changed around the system my wastegate now flutters.
and last but not least. MY car FLIES like poo off a you know what now.

anyway, im quite pleased with it but far too much cutting and bending was involved.

i just had a A88 FMIC fitted by mr sheen on here. hes running one as is jamie (j16JRF).

mine seemed a bit of a mission but with previous experience under his belt he knew what to expect. we just ran into problems with my aircon piping and it was dangerously close to my positive battery terminal.

mines matt back but they do look the dogs when fitted

totally agree with you. I had the same front mount..had to source the pipework from hong kong. FMIC was okay, but bloody hell, what a hell of an amount of cutting and fiddling. I sourced all mine own clips, extra hoses for protection against the fan and battery terminal. Couldnt be arsed with their own fittings..

it does run close to the terminal and touches on the cam cover. i just cant beleive the lower brackets didnt even fit. Autobahn have changed them to jubilee clips so its not too bad.

very true with the touching of cam cover makes a loud knocking sound when it does... ive got a samco hose so i can cut the pipe to give a bit more flex in the pipe...

give it a try to mate

Got an A88 on mine, view my scoob for pic of it fitted. You may think that they have moved to jubillee clips and its a good move, but i would defo be getting a few Mikalor or similar hose clamps (especially if your running 300+BHP) as i only had my car back a few days before blowing the join under the air filter. Once that turbos sucking up in the revs in 4th or 5th it just shreads the teeth on the jubilees. Doesnt half go pop too, i f**kin **** myself the first time it happened.

They do luk good once fitted though, i must say.
