My new Sti

Nice!!!
Anybody who doesn't like the new shape can't help but be changing their minds seeing that....the old shape looks so dated now by comparison.
Also looks super understated in white with the gold wheels.

Very nice Rexjamo!!!
They look mean together.
What, are all 3 yours?
I left OZ when those grey version 6es were selling. I agree that the old ones are starting to look a little outdated now, and the new one is starting to grow on me. At $55,000 AUD you'd be mad not to get one. Bargain of the century. Whanna now how much the new STI goes for here? 18,000,000 GRD which equates to $90,000AUD. The plain jane WRX goes for the equivalent of $70,000AUD.
Have you had a run against the 6? I'm sure the new one handles better, but how does the power compare to the old, with the old being lighter?
Enjoy m8!!!
Cheers,
Wrexy.

PS Being an expat, and representing the Aussies here in Greece, I thought I'd post 2 pix of my rex which I bought from Holland. I brought all the STI bits with me from OZ in my container.

Thanks guys. She drives beautifully.
To get to the place I shot the last photo, I took a drive up the 'black spur', near Melbourne. It's about 15k's of very windy road through a very old forest with huuuuge gum trees. This stretch of road is very popular with car clubs, car magazines etc... The STi was awesome, loads of grip, fantastic brakes, great steering feel. I think I'm running out of superlatives! I haven't enjoyed a drive that much for a long time.
The STi is a big step over my last car, a MY01 WRX hatch with APS stage 1 kit (210kw). The handling, steering, and overall poise of the car on the road is way better. The other 02STi belongs to a friend of mine who has also traded in his MY01.
The grey 00 Sti6 belongs to my Uncle. As a certified car freak (he owns a VT Diablo), he was very impressed with the handling of the new STi, and remarked how similar the handling felt (to the old STi) but how much quieter it was with respect to road and engine noise. We didn't push the engine as it only has about 600k's on the clock. But even below 4000rpm it is much torquier than my previous Rex, and the 6 speed box is a dream.
I haven't run the two against each other, will wait till I've got a few thousand k's on her.
What more can I say? If you get the opportunity, get one!

Hey Rexjamo, looks very nice mate! Thinking of trading my P1 4dr on the '02 Sti. Hey do you know if that 10ozzygrand spoiler kit that Subaru aust. is offering as an option on the '02 Sti's the same as the '02 sti type UK Prodrive editions ie. new wrc front bumper & grille, side skirts & rear spoiler??
Cheers

Don't know about the 10 grand body kit, no-one at Subaru mentioned it to me, and the dealer I went to is run by Subaru Aust.??? I wouldn't bother personally, 10 grand is a hell of a lot of money for a bodykit.
I will get some interior pictures up within the next day or so if you can hang on. I'm supposed to be studying at the moment!
As to the car's looks, I think it looks great, but then I would as it's my car, and I want to make myself feel better by saying it looks good. ;-)

Here's a few more, including interior and engine shots. Let's not get into another boring discussion about which model looks best eh? If you don't like the car, push your back button and look somewhere else :-)

Wow rexjamo that interior looks really spot on m8, very nice, I like the detail on the engine also. Very very nice.
p.s. What about a nice new spoiler to compliment the rest of the body kit, make it look a bit more balanced?

Nice....
I have to say the only thin I would alter is the rear spoiler. Its gotta be worth doing - maybe you could sneak it on at its first service with a - "They damaged the orig and put this on in its place, etc."
Are there many on the roads in Oz yet?

Beautiful car. Am I the only person that thinks the low spoiler really suits the white car? Don't know why, as the high one looks fab on Pete Croney's and the T-S family cars, but I reckon the low one makes this white car look *more* aggressive.
Seriously lovely car.
Is it totally standard or have you got bodywork mods? Also it seems to ride slightly lower than the WRX - is that just an illusion?

totally stock. I think it is a bit lower than a standard MY01/02.
Tried out the front LSD around a tight (dry) roundabout yesterday in 1st - a fair bit of oversteer, quite a surprise! Watch out all those used to underseer in the MY01!

Ouch, that stings!
I'm with Suncorp and they quoted me $981 for the STi and $834.23 for the stock MY02 WRX.
I just rang RACQ and they quoted me $2449.65 for the WRX!!!
You believe that?
So under a grand for the STi is pretty good i'm guessing. I suppose there has to be some benefits for living in the sticks though.
Thanks for the help
MrZ
ps. you got some nice pics on your site, did you pick out your Sti when you were in Fukowoka?
